I'm going to have to disagree with the idea that the writers have to make the Deceptions more of a threat by taking them out most of the episodes.Look at the wreck that was Battlestar Galactica Season 3 when they took out the cylons after the first few episodes and made dumb theme episodes like the one where Tyrol starts a union and goes on strike.

The writers are showing that they can't do their job very good seeing how they just cop out of the whole challenge of making the Decepticons threating and writing about some over used villain profile taken from DC comics.

I guess the thing is for me I hate superhero/villain characters and I feel they don’t belong in a show about robots and not super stuff.

And probably the biggest reason I don’t enjoy animated as much as the rest of you is because I hate the characters, yeah they’re well developed, but the thing is no matter how much character development they give these characters I still wont like them any better, they’re still characters I hate.

Yeah, it’s a kids show, you got that right. But my point is why cant it be an interesting kids show? Energon was a kids show and I loved it, its one of my favorite transformers series. I also like Galaxy force, Micron Densetsu, RID, Beast wars and G1, all of those were kid shows, but they were good kid shows and they were a lot more interesting than this one.

Well, if a semi truck with sirens counts as a fire truck. In Britain, fire trucks are not just a cab.

He's a firetruck. It may not look terribly realistic, but I didn't mind Galaxy Convoy being a firetruck with wings, so I can't complain on this one either.

*I don't like the foam weapon he has though. The fire extinguisher.*

When my husband and I were watching the special we were both like, "What did Prime just do to Starscream!"

Can't say anything is great about this show. I've tried, I really tried to watch it and like it because it is Transformers. Unfortunately, I could not do it any more. I am interested in seeing Megatron get his body and how it happens and what the scientist comes up with...but it wasn't enough (did it happen yet?). Optimus needs to have more presence and become the leader, just my thought.

Overall though, since it is written for kids (which is painfully obvious) and not myself, I think I should nod politely and step out of arguing. I wonder if the age group it is aimed for likes it.

From the sounds of it there are plenty of people already who find it to be an interesting kid show. Your point is merely your opinion.

Another thing that I find interesting about this show is that they have a main female character in the form of Sari. Generally when it comes to a kids show aimed at boys main characters tend to stay as boys. I'd really like to know why they had a girl instead of a guy lead.

Tho I guess it could be argued that since the hey patches up and heals the autobots, having a human female playing the "nurse" role makes more sense symbolism wise. Whatever, the kids makes me laugh at least.

Well, there are two reasons for me.

1. Megatron is managing to be sinister, cunning and downright evil, even though he's pretty much a head and nothing else.

2. Starscream's a slimy, treacherous bastard. This is the best Starscream we've had since G1!

Your right, maybe I didn’t make much sense with that, I guess it just feels like whenever something negative is said, someone will tell you “it’s a kids show, what do you expect?” which doesn’t make much sense either.

Like you said earlier in the thread, there isn’t much point to this thread and I guess I didn’t realize this when I started the thread. It just seemed like everyone liked this series so much I thought I might have been missing something, but I guess not.

I think the show is aimed at people who want to watch it.
None of that sexist trash of girls show, boys show.

I gotta say that its o.k if you don't like it. Just because many people like it doesn't mean you have to.

Its like the Osbournes, or Gene Simmon's Family Jewels. I think they are lousy shows Not worth watching, yet i still find some comments that Gene Simmon's makes at least funny. Doesn't mean I watch they show, just that the very limited times I've seen it I've heard something funny from him. The show is still really lousy though IMHO.

Perhaps instead of trying to see why people like it, you try to find something you actually like about the show. it can be a little thing, like maybe you like Megatron's design, or you enjoy the G1 nods. or something. And you can go from there. You probably won't like the show still, but at least there be something to look forward to if you must watch it.

I’ve been thinking, not really anything is out standing in my opinion, but I think I would like the show if…

1. They got rid of the super villains
2. Sent the animation to somewhere that could do it right.
3. Made Sari more useful rather than a pest.
4. Made Prime more of a leader.
5. They drop the odd proportions.

If they could pull off these five things I think I would like it a lot better.

i gotcha.

But the villains have got to be supervillians cos they will be squashed otherwise.

And i dont think Sari is a pest. She might actually be more important than she seemes now.

I think the chins are too big and i dont see how the mouths move so.

What a positive way to put things Overcracker.

I agree with points 2, 3 and 5.

The Super-villains have some redeeming qualities and i think they work within the context of the show.
The Animation style is something i've had a hard time liking, but the writing, and the characterization IMHO offset the animation.

The odd proportions again, in keeping with the teen titan/ben10 style animation they need to be a bit more exaggerated. I would have liked it if they had been a little less stylized. but what you gonna do.


Prime has already been explained he isn't a leader. So its understandable why he doubts , and sometimes looks like he doesn't know what to do. But there's a reason for it. Its not like they just decided to make him dubious and that's it they gave him a back story to go with it. and its an acceptable one. He's not G1 Prime he's a different character, just bares the same name. So he'll have a different personality.

One thing that stands out is when they do humour it may make you flinch a bit to a lot but they pull it off mostly.

In the other series the humour was sometimes awkward.
and sometimes cringy.

Unless its the japanese made ones which is entirely in keeping with the anime.

I dont think Ben 10 is like animated. The art seems full and glossy.
