What to do on a friday night without alcohol

Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

No, most of you girls have a screwed up definition of fat and thin.

Ok, we by the numbers thin, we are not. At my height, I can weight 150 pounds and not be overweight. Anything over that is. 180 pounds means I am technically obese. I weigh 140. Anything under 120 is underweight. So I am not thin. I am about average.

Like money?
MB2, you look pretty good for 'average.' My wife is about the same height/weight as you usually, and I think she looks pretty good.
I agree with you about the weight issue. I don't think there can be any doubt that some people (such as my sister-in-law) have legitimate genetic issues that contribute significantly to their weight, but there are also many people who simply aren't active enough or don't eat the right foods. You read all the time about how obesity is getting worse in this country, and this is the first generation with a life expectancy less than the previous one. How can all of that be genetic?
Heck, I was very active in high school/college, I lifted weights, I ran, played racquetball, and I could eat anything and not gain weight. However, when I got older, got a full-time job, got married, most of my physical activity stopped, but my eating didn't. I went from 185 to 240 pounds. That's not genetic. I'm now on the South Beach Diet, as well as doing cardio and weight training, and I'm back to about 200 pounds, aiming for 185-190. So for some people, not all, but some, it is possible to lose the weight with some lifestyle changes.
And to return to the original topic of this thread, I see nothing wrong with enjoying the occasional bottle of beer or glass of wine. As some have posted, there are many health benefits to alcohol, as long as it's not abused.

It's a waste of money and can (didn't say it absolutely does, *CAN*) bring you nothing but trouble.

Alcohol is fine in moderation. A glass of wine a day with your meal has been shown to have a lot of health benefits.

There appears to be a different mindset on alcohol in the states, than there is in europe from my own experience of speaking with people on both sides of the Atlantic. I am not making any generalisations here, like I said just going on my own experiences.

I personally started drinking when I was 11, such as probably most people do in Scotland, not saying this is a good thing - it is just the way it is here. I am 26 now and still going strong, and live very healthily. I have a great diet, and I am very athletic: I am actually about to go out for a 10k run just now. I am not overweight or anything.

Nice to know I wasn't the only one hit with weight gain when puberty kicked in.

I think I'm still riding on that whole crazy young metabolism thing. I haven't gained or lost an ounce in years, but some day it's going to catch me and kick the **** out of me. I knows it.

You're 18 right, JP?

When I was 18 I had the same thing. I ate fat stuff all day long and in the weekends I drank beer and vodka till I dropped. Didn't gain a single pound.

I just turned 20 about a week ago. Pounds are flying on me like crazy for the last 9 months

I went from 77 (kilos) to 83...

Why you gotta scare me like that?!

The only way I am not drinking on friday night is if I am either working or sleeping. So I guess I don't need to be in this thread. :P

I just had 2 rum and cokes so I can't properly answer the question..
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).
