Who can beat my mecha?

Postby Evank_Horizon » Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:51 pm

First I'd I'll say who can, without a doubt, beat it. I'll update this list with any opponent that completely overpower it. If the character or mecha you think of can beat one of the character or mecha in the following list in a straight one on one fight, then it's probably a winner.

Superman
Son Goku
Sentry
Galactus
Gaogaigar
Gurren Lagann
The Destroyer
Dark Phoenix (Jean Grey)
Gravion

I'm a little over making up new features on my mecha just to say it can beat whoever you name. But, please, give good reasons why this charachter can beat my mecha. With references and videos if possible.

I'll also make a list of who it has beaten:
Ideon
Ethan Edwards (Not enough experience and fighting skills.)
Gladiator
Gunbuster
Gundam Wing Zero Custom
Ironman

Draw matches:
XGH-1-Final "Doomsday"
Magneto
Firestorm

Who just can't win:
Megas XLR
Boss Robot

Now the mecha in question:

Name: Phoenix

Description: A nanomachine colony created and controlled by the mind of it's pilot; Evank Horizon.

Size: Variable; from 2.5 m to about 80 m high.

Weapons and attacks:
It can control the element of fire.
It weilds a large magma sword.
On one of it's arm rests a high mobility mind controlled flying pod that can be used both as a high density energy shield and as a laser cannon.
It's breast can shoot a large bird shaped blast of plasma. And there's the usual eye lasers.

Other abilities:
It can regenerate rather fast.
It can fly.
The pilot becomes part of the mecha and can't be killed unless the whole thing is destroyed.
It's speed and reaction time is comparable to Z-warriors during the Freezer saga.
It can see a wider range of colors, from ultraviolet to infrared and with precision 20 times greater than normal humans. It also has a sonar similar to Dare Devil's.
It can be a little weak to extreme cold.
The pilot is very skilled with his own ancestral martial arts and fencing.
The greater the size, the more concentration is needed by the pilot. Beyond 30 m high, it starts getting a little slower because of that.

In most cases it will match it's opponent's size during the fight.

I just hope I'm not forgetting anything now...

Ideon. One shot from the Ideon gun, and it's toast.

But since this is a fan character fight, then there's really no good reason why I can't use on as well:

Designation: XGH-1-Final "Doomsday"

Pilot: Terrance Downes

Description: Massive mech built to easily wipe out all others.

Height: 160 feet (53.3~ meters)

Weapons:
x50 missile launchers
x50 beam cannons
high-output Molecular Disruptor Cannon
"Mech Control" Any electronics that can be seen, no matter how briefly, can be controlled.

Abilities:
x8 Rocket engines (Capable of allowing the Doomsday to easily achieve escape velocity)
Experimental Defensive enamel (It can survive multiple nuclear detonations at once)
On-board nuclear reactor (Doomsday can run all on-board systems, all engines, and the Molecular Cannon constantly for an indefinite amount of time)
The pilot developed almost every mech technique used, while the remaining few were based on his principals.

I figure it was best to fight fire with fire, or, in this case, Mary Sue with Mary Sue.

I battle your Mecha with Imagion!

The attack I use will be turing it off with scepticizm buffers in place.

Therefor if it can't be imagined, and is doubted to even exist.

Until your Mecha destroys a real city, it must not be, hence can not win. Should it destroy my city, our savior Imagion will rise and bring forth it's "Eternal Ray Of One Upsmanship"

Carry on, brag and candor at will, Imagion will see you if and when it sees fit. Till then, if you exist, the field is yours.

Well I figure my mech could beat your mech.

Mech Name: Rock

Size: 80,000 km in height

Weight: You find me a scale big enough, we'll weigh it.

Location: Space

Main armament: acceleration

Yeah, my mech would win. All it needs to do is either crash into Earth, or just push it out of orbit towards the sun.

Just when I thought the topic would pass by un-noticed...

Senor Hugo and Shadowman. I'm very much like to see pictures of your mecha ( unless of course you imagined them just for the fight, which is perfectly fine to me. )

Shadowman :
Ideon is very slow. It won't be fast enough to hit Phoenix. But there are good chances that Phoenix could disable Ideon preventing any more damage ( Including destruction of the universe )

"Mech Control" might slow Phoenix down but I doubt it could control it. Phoenix is based on a very sophisticated nano-technology. My pilot will have a stronger grip over it than Doomsday.
x8 Rocket engines: Won't that turn the pilot into mush?
This might be a good fight.

Senor Hugo: Detroying the earth in one way to go. ( My mecha isn't on earth. But let's assume your mecha destroys Neo-Eden instead... ) Phoenix can survive in space. Probably long enough to find another planet. I figure you mech would probably go down the same way as Ideon.

Liege Evilmus: You don't know who you're dealing with. Have you ever seen "I Married a Strange Person" by Bill Plympton?

I googled that but nothing came out. Just a couple of Star Wars forums. Do you have any link? Because there are a lot of unexplained abreviations. Or is it your fanmade mecha?

It's been swimming around in my head for a while now. This is the first time I've ever really written it down. Except fo Molecular Disruption technology. I though of that years ago, as part of a story I had with several nano-based, AI-controlled robots, with molecular disruption being the easiest way to take one down.

I designed Doomsday as part of a (Seperate) Gundam-like universe. Doomsday itself was meant to be a much larger (Standard mechs for it are around 20 feet tall) design, and meant to be able to immediately crush anything it wants.

As for the engines and the painful Gs the pilot would have to endure...it's the first time I've written it down and thought it all out. I'd need more time to work out the bugs. And what's worse, I don't want to put in Inertial Dampeners (Like in Stargate) because, for my particular universe, that just seems to far out of left field.

Well now, Senor Hugo... Can you call that a mecha? Or even a character?

Gee I'm glad I dared to start this fight. I didn't expect people would be throwing their own mechas in it. I love to hear about other's personal mecha and their made up universes. The present version of Phoenix is the 7th solid design.

The first was more of less a very spiky AT-flied-less EVA with the ability to fly.

The second had more Gundam influences to it. That's when I created the pilot.

The third was made after I tried to make a sculture of Phoenix. The design was very simple. It was a very basic normal "super robot" mecha. It weilded a very large crytal axe.

The fourth was the first to feature nano-technology. Phoenix was an intelligent entity whose powers were enhanced by the pilot's will. It weilded some kind of double fire-edge katana. During that period I started to create other mechas to compete with it.

The fifth became a separate female Mecha design.

The sixth was much more detailed than any previous models. That's when I drew the first version of his current sword. It was then clear that the pilot would create Phoenix with his mind. The world I was creating around it was now much more complete.

In almost every incartations it has grown in power, making it what it is now.

You should hear my idea to make a version of Norse Mythology, but with robots. It's not like a lot of other things, where anything can be named after a Norse God. Thor wields an electro-magnetic hammer, Loki has a modifiable frame and a nano-technological exterior, (Like the TX, to go with his shape-shifting) Odin has a spear (gungnir), an eight-piece rocket system (Sleipnir), and a supercomputer for a left eye. Freyja and Freyr design new robots, (Fertility Gods!) and so on in that fashion.

I'm quite proud of it. I think I wrote it all down somewhere, too.

It sounds more solid than Xenogear's or Armored Core's use of the names. The only one I can remember that was mostly right was Valkery from AC1.

I mostly use names of mythological brids or other flying monsters from various mythologies. Sometimes hiding the sources behind a different spelling.

Would Gladiator from X-Men stand a chance?

Here's his powers and abilities from Wiki

Powers and abilities

Gladiator possesses a number of superhuman capabilities as a result of his unique alien physiology. He possesses superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, and reflexes, and is able to survive without breathing for an unrevealed period of time. The most powerful member of the Imperial Guard, Gladiator has performed feats such as lifting buildings; staggering foes with heat vision said to burn hotter than the core of a sun, or freezing them in place with frost breath; moving in space at hyper-speed and surviving supernovas. He has moved the Blob and stoped the Juggernaut in his tracks. He has been described as capable of ripping planets from their orbits, and collapsing the hearts of stars. Reed Richards theorized that Gladiator's powers were in part psionic, that his abilities are linked in some way to his own self-confidence. It has also been discovered that Gladiator is vulnerable to some forms of radiation.

Sentry could probably be a good fight though he seems to be very over rated by the fans.

Ethan Edwards just seems ridiculous. I don't think he'd have the skill to land a hit on Phoenix.

The source of the Gladiator's power greatly remind me the Orks of Warhammer 40000. I don't know how fast and durable he really is. His feats are said to be 'superhuman' but there a long way to go between normal humans and Phoenix and I'm not sure that Gladiator can go all the way up. It's not told if what he does with stars and super novas is done with a special trick or if he just does it with raw power. Though he does have high stats I just don't see him beating my Phoenix. If Phoenix can dodge his first attacks and land a few hits, Gladiator's power would be greatly diminished.

I didn't know there were so many Superman rip-offs in the marvel universe. I knew about some but not those.

He might be cooler in some ways. (Well I think he's just ugly but that's just me. I don't think it affects my judgment too much though.) But I greatly fear for his mental stability. He has too feel he is the best to be the best. Evank(The pilot) is not beyond making him feeel ridiculous. Gladiator seems to be very obvious in his way to fight. (based on the little I know about him of course.) While Phoenix could make a swift few faints before hitting him.

Sentry I don't think is overrated, cos I think he stinks, but he's still very very powerful, damn dude he ripped Carnage in two pices, Sentry you motherslagger!

Ethan is not ridiculous, he is unbeaten, OK he did not have that many fights, but still.
He is so powerful that his costumes keep ripping apart, even leather!
He beat the crap out of the Fantastic four, Spider-Man and the rest of the Avengers.
+ God seems to like him...

Phoenix is not made out of iron or any magnetic metal. It's created with surroundding particles of dust and minerals. But on the other hand Magneto could beat him using a large amount of metal. On the other other hand, Phoenix could drop Magneto very easily if he gets a chance. A good match.
