I was a little girl when i started watching TF.
I was 8 years old. I'm 16 now, so it wasn't any of the originals, but I love it all anyway!!

My fiancee plays with my Skywarp figures when I'm not around. She says it reminds her of me.

I don't like it when she licks them though. She does it just to see the reaction. :cry:

It makes me want to tear my hair out. Some of those can't be replaced easily!

When did I say I didnt like her messing with them? My Collection is there to be looked at, and played with, when we have friends over the Transformers get a real workout!

And she has got her own figures, but most of her figures are displayed on the Transformers shelf.

Back in the days of the original airings of the G1 animated series, my best friend at the time and I founded a large world-wide Transformers fan-club....and most of the membership were females (and female Decepticons to boot!) We disbanded when I couldn't keep up with the new memberships pouring in, and most of them were chicks!

That probably has to due with the nature of the female mind. To want to belong. That's probably why the majority of the group were girls, while most of the boys were loners and did their own thing.

The fact they were Decepticons just proves girls like dark personas (i.e. The Bad Boy, or being the Bad Girl)

I never got all psycho-analytical about it, though....I just thought it was cool that an obviously male-oriented concept gained so many female followers, and best yet, bad-guy-fans... :grin:

See that is something else that fasionated with me this series as i got older I found out there were girls like me who were also fans. And that is what I want to look at in detail why?
Why did a seemingly boy's show attract girls. and what conditions were right for it? did this change socity help women advance? Also why did girls get offended by Arcee and sometimes Elita One?

Probably because at that stage girls were starting to become more "empowered". The whole "girls play with dolls" thing was something your mother did, not you. So being interested in cartoons aimed at boy's probably made them feel more like an equal instead of some brain dead bimbo.

Which would be why they didn't like Arcee and Elita One, because they were mostly helpless heroins who needed saving by the big boys.
