Barbie may be unnattainable beauty, but at least she doesn't look downright slutty. She is just pretty. And why can't they make girl toys that are more than just baby dolls and well, dolls period? Or cooking/cleaning stuff? Why not market more stuff that requires some real brainwork, like boys' stuff? I THOUGHT we were trying to advance our gender, not keep it firmly implanted in the 1950s...oh well. I guess little girls will always like dolls (myself included), but we should also encourage other toys as well.

And didn't buy them for thier daughters. There was on the news at that time when He-man was getting a female audience. concern over children playing with toys not of thier gender can be a sign of them turning gay. LOL now but that was how hot a topic it was according to what I reserched.

The only problem I have though with the "advancement" we're getting..Look at the newest Arcee stuff..The whole point behind the new transformers is that they wanted to get away from the human concepts..2 eyes, nose, mouth, hands, etc..And make them look like organic machines...Not even needing to be bipedal in form. So they're all made like that..Until we get Arcee..Ok, fine, so an alien civilization has 2 sexes, ok..But, why does the figure need to have curves, and some resemblance to breasts to show that it's female, IT'S FEET ARE ACTUALLY HIGH HEELED SHOES and of course it has make up on..Oh, and hair too..That's not advancement. It's stupid.

Any particular reason why?
I'm asking out of curiosity, not as a "GeeWunner" out to defend his precious cartoon. But I am curious as to what a young fan such as yourself doesn't like about G1.

Yep, had my Birthday in August. I was born in the golden age of children's cartoons. And shoulder pads.
I got the year and the month. Why not include the day.

Uh uh! Some things must remain a mystery.

I belong to the G1 era. And yet, i was not impressed with the initial few episodes either. It's the way the animation was made. Too many simplifications. Too many bloopers that we just have to swallow and imagine what should have been in our minds.
I think this should be the reason that turns off young fans of present generation. Especially so in this modern age when cartoons are so much polished now.
But shortly after the few episodes when the story caught on, i became a fan too, willing to overlook all the animation errors and laziness.
