I really wouldn't trust anything called UAC.

I asked on a tech forum WTF was happening to my computer, and they said that it makes back ups of all material you delete in case you want to recover it later on.
I do not know how to disable this feature, but i do know how to clear the "cache", which is in
Start - programs - accessories - system tools - disk clean up - Files from all users on this computer - more options - system restore and shadow copies.
Burn wrote:Alright guys, (those running Vista at least). I need a little bit of help.
Lately navigating Seibertron has been some what sluggish. Like when I move my mouse over the side menu it takes what I consider too long to highlight, same with the top menu.
And by my perceptions, i'm comparing this to surfing Seibertron.com at work on XP.
Same goes with using the scroll wheel on the mouse to scroll, it seems sluggish.
So i'm wondering if any other Vista users are having this problem as well. And for the record, it's occurring in both IE and FF and it's not because of other things running as other sites move and navigate with much more ease.
My next plan of action is to uninstall the java plug-ins and do a fresh install. But if other Vista users are having the same problem then it may be a Vista compatability issue that Ryan isn't aware of.

I knew I'd hate Vista ever since Microsoft announced they would only be releasing Halo 2 on Vista and not XP. I knew it then, right then and there, that I'd hate Vista, because to play one of my favorite franchises, I'd have to get a new goddamn computer!![]()

None of this post makes sense. You hate Vista, for something that wasn't Vista's fault? For something that was more Bungie Studio's and Microsoft Game Studio's fault?
Just so you know, the Microsoft section that made Vista didn't know/intend/care about the fact that Bungie and Microsoft Games wanted their product on a better OS.
EDIT: That's like saying I hate Gears of War, because it's on Xbox 360, and not regular Xbox.

It makes perfect sense really. Halo 2 was out on Xbox for more then a year and a half, maybe two before they announced the PC version. But then the announcement came that it would only launch with Vista, probably hoping to give Vista a good game vehicle to drive more sales. I for one don't want to replace all my equipment just because Microsoft chose to be ignorant and withhold the game for so very long so they could help their upcoming product. Hence, it does make sense. Maybe I should have said I hated Microsoft to be more clear, but Vista can still kiss off.

The Vista Developers didn't have anything to do with this. I don't know why you think that. I also don't know why you think Microsoft is just one company.
If you want to blame someone, blame Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie.

I also don't see why you're being so argumentive? The decisions were made, and they all bear the Microsoft label, so I blame them. Get over it.

I supposed the subtlety is lost on you, then.![]()
You can't blame all of Microsoft (Including Computer software, Publishing, Research and development, Computer hardware, AND Video games) for something only one section did.
Burn wrote:Is there a point in laying any blame for Halo though?
Microsoft are now developing all their games to take advantage of DirectX 10.
Older computers aren't designed to run DirectX 10. Is that anyone's fault? No. That's the natural progression of technology.
So really, the reason Halo is a Vista only release isn't because of a Microsoft decision, it's because it was designed to take full advantage of up-to-date technology.
And I rang the computer shop and he told me System Restore is set by default to use 15% of your hard drive space. The only way to dial it down is via command line. I'll try it when I get home before posting what to do.
Only they could also make DirectX 10 run on XP (I heard someobody cracked it and did just that already). So much for the vista argument.Microsoft are now developing all their games to take advantage of DirectX 10.
