Well I ended up skipping the Elite and getting the Halo 3 Xbox. I just like how the Halo one looks over the sleak black. Don't get me wrong I was in love with both I was very torn, but the Halo edition won. I am sending my dead xbox out to be fixed and when it gets back I have a friend who wants to pick it up for $300.

This is a caching problem with the 360 version. IIRC to remove this with bioshock you have to hold down lb and rb when you start the machine until the 2k games logo appears.

So I take it you know about 360 repair pretty good then eh? Say I completly clean off the gpu and hitsink of all the thermal compound and use Arctic Silver instead. you think that would be enough to fix one?

BTW the 360 I have does not do the red ring of death, it just overheats and locks up. Its dismantled in my closet right now.

Put some Arctic Silver on and then get rid of those horrible X-Clamps.

so what should I use instead of the x-clamps?

It's helped me so far. Get the one that clips on to the back and uses the powercord, the one thats a base is basically useless because no air circulation.

don't get the intercooler, it kills 360's. I don't really trust Nyko products at all. From what I've read the Nyko sucks too much power out of the 360 by sucking it from its own power supply. I've heard everything from power supply's burning up, to red ring of death, to complelty fried mobo.

I really don't see how it helps. your putting 3 smaller fans over top of 2 fans. seems that would cause more of an air restriction.

I can't complain, no problems as of yet and I have the fans on 98% of the time even though its always cool in my basement.

lol hilarious! but it makes me cringe thinking about the $400 wasted on an Xbox360 that he just ran over. Can't blame him though. At that point I'd be convinced it would never be fixed either.

Exactly why I would never bought one. Hell I didn't buy the first Xbox. I won it from Mountain Dew!

A 360 that some people are having problems with but you have over 50 quite good games to play or a PS3 that works correctly but only has 3 games worth owning.....I'll take the broken console.

I'd rather enjoy a good console with good games while it lasts than a console that LOOKS like a refridgerator and nothing going for it for at least another 6 months(or when ever in spring MGS4 is being released)

My brother has one and I'm less than impressed(although its the only way I can play Ninja Gaiden as I lost my xbox copy )

I'd rather stick with the PS2 than any of these crap systems. Sure, graphics are nice if that's your thing, but I prefer my games from the PS1 and PS2 to anything else.

I got 'em. Though, Microsoft was pretty cool about it. They send me a brand new one

My first gen died on me, lets see how long this replacement lasts.

My replacement some times says "unplayable disc". I have to unplug it and then try and play every kind of media that is supported on the 360. And if that doesnt work i have to try all my 360 games until one decides to start playing.

Ah, the PS2, so much simpler

I have no inclination whatsoever in getting a 360 - I'm a Windows whore as it is

My ps2 died after a few years much like pretty much all of my friends ps2s did (they had good runs, but its like they have an expirary date, mine was unmodded too)
I got my 60g PS3 with perfect ps1 and ps2 compatability and I love it.

I really couldn't stand it if I had a xbox 360 and it died on me, I would be furious, I would demand money back immediatly.
I never really trusted microsoft consoloes and the 360 proved me correct in my assumtions.
Plus im not a fan of fist person shooters, and that defenatly includes halo.

My advice to everyone is go out and try to find a 60g PS3 immediatly, they are discontinued and are the best version.
I would personally never bother with 360.

But what would I play on it? PS1 and PS2 games? It's cheaper to just buy those systems and the games you want.

I got it, then I turned it off, and waited a couple hours, and then it worked fine again later.

I forgot to mention that neither my PS2 or Xbox 360 was modified in any way, the only thing even downloaded onto the 360 were two cd's.
The PS2 failed in a year and a half and I had to pay for shipping to them and it took at least four weeks to get back my PS2 and my 360 was returned to me in just under two weeks and they paid for shipping both ways, they also included a one month free trial of xbox live gold membership.
Don't get me wrong I like my PS2 as well but the 360 is leaps and bounds over the original xbox and the PS2, I don't have a PS3 yet but will wait some time longer if not another year when the price drops even more hopefully and the game selection gets much better...the launch of the PS3 was a debacle to say the least.
