actually no! when they mentioned the foundation in the original i always thought they meant knight industries. that and in TKR its mentioned 2 or 3 times an episode!

Sorry amigo, but the FLAG mentioned in TKR is the same one as the one mentioned in KR. It's just more advanced due to the passage of time. Knight Industries is never mentioned outside KITT's construction. It's possible Knight Industries is a subsidiary company of FLAG, but Devon definatly works for FLAG in the original series. He mentions it by it's full name on a number of occasions. And people go to the Foundation for help in dealing with problems.

KITT should be able to regenerate and heal himself in the new episodes.
