I promised thoooughts~
Ratchet is a wonderful start. I have good things to say about the robot mode too, but the vehicle mode is where this dude wins for me. Okay yeah sure unlike the Warrior version there was no effort put into turning Strongarm into an ambulance... but it still looks cool! Still love this vehicle, looks so chunky and strong yet cute and lovely all at once. And he rolls so well!
Like I said above, the RiD Ratchet design doesn't just work for the Aligned dude to me; it makes for a great MTMTE Ratchet AND a Neo-G1 Ratchet. This guy's going right next to what very few Legends Autobots I have, and I like the size here even in comparison to Generations Legends - he's a doctor, not a soldier! He looks great and fits the part, but the only problem is the limited articulation. Would have liked some more in the arms, and a simple swivel for the head would have given him soooooo much personality. But still, he's able to pull off a couple really neat poses!
Arise, Laser RatchetReally hate to say it, but Bumblebee's where things start to fall apart a little for me. Despite my disdain for the movie aesthetic he is really cute and I love him quite a bit; but his plastic feels so extremely soft and he comes apart very easily. I do kind of want to put this down to the very, very hot sun during purchase today, but it wasn't a good first impression.
Vehicle mode totally makes up for it. It's cute as a button and I cannot resist just doot-dee-doot-dee-dooting it along
when it doesn't even have wheels! Using his spoiler to flip him in the air has also proven highly amusing.
One other note? For this little neo-G1 display I decided that the T30 Legends Bee would be too for a Legion/Legends display (like c'mon, on the level of Optimus and bigger than Jazz? That just ain't right), so if anything I figured I'd go for the RTS mold that was redecoed in AOE or whatever and was still being sold everywhere that sells Transformers here. To my dismay? Turns out he's bigger than your modern Legion, and again, just wrong to me - Bee's supposed to be tiny.
Aaaaand then I made a remarkable discovery.
LOOK AT HOW PERFECTLY IN SCALE THEY LOOK! The black throws it off a little, but the chibifying of TLK Bumblebee has weirdly made him look like his Classics self in even tinier form and I am loving it. What this means is that I am totally gonna be on the lookout for the yellow TTC Bumblebee to have in vehicle mode among my Legion Autobots. This is wonderful
