Repair is useless as you can't repair yourself. That was tried out a while ago where you could repair your self. Some exploited it and made enduring repairers where it basically took forever to complete an arena match. Everyone got massive amounts of xp for it. It dragged the game down. So the ability to repair yourself was taken away and time limits were added to the matches.

If you want dual tactics, go for avoid with an offensive tactic. The high speed everyone is going to have will make if the most effective. Picking ram with strafe or vice versa will hurt the secondary tactic because you will not have the strength or firepower to fully support both to make them effective.

Well I've been playing round for a while now trying to find a decent strafe set up - and to be honest it is much harder to achieve a decent strafe set up for 25k than a good rammer as a result I'm strongly tempted to go rammer style unless EP can dig up some stats on how vulnerable to stun a bot with strength 9 would be to a strength 10 ram 10 ram set up

Anyway her's my potential ram/avoid set-up:

alt medium vehicle

Strength 10
Intelligence 0
Speed 10
Endurance 9
Rank 6
Courage 9
Firepower 0
Skill 0
avoid* 10
ram* 10

Like with Firebird, very solid set up.

Strafe is a decently hard set up to become truely effective against rammers. You sacrifice strength to get your firepower up. That means less armor you can wear which means the more damage you take. Rammers pretty much rule the arena.

well if it's not possible for a bot to repair itself in the arena I'll revise my stats to something like this,...kinda sucks that repairing yourself isn't possible haha.

yea, the only reason I'm even keeping this alt is because I already have a crap-ton of the most expensive rank 6 armour installed on already and I don't feel like paying for it again haha.

That is always a good reason.

And to finally answer Light Blade's concern. Stun was never fully fleshed out on the effects. Endurance may limit the effects of stun the higher it is. The larger the amount of strength greater than your opponent may affct it as well. So it may not be the amount of strength but the difference between the two opponents strength that causes a higher stun effect. One point difference may not make a huge difference.

Thanks a lot EP - I did some experimenting myself by lowering Shads' stat to nine for a couple of days and it seemed to me that I got stunned a lot and for a long time. Whereas before at strength ten seemed to respond after a much quicker delay. As a result I think I'm going to stick with strength 10 after all. Thanks for all your work though EP.

By the way do you know if Strafe has a cool down time after use? It seems from most of my arena logs that after a strafe attack I don't attack for nearly a minute afterwards although this appears to depend on the amount of courage I have.

Higher courage is going to let you attack more, but I am unsure if there is a waiting period. I am not a strafing expert. I'm more of a ground assault specialist. Someone that uses strafe may know better than me.
