Because Rap sucks.
HALLELUJAH! lol
Rated X wrote:Nothing is wrong with "Middle America" my friend. But I come from Miami which is a very multi-cultural city. In Miami, we mostly have Latin American, African American, and Carribean influences. Yeah we got white people too but they are actually the minorty. (No disrespect Im half white) So naturally the things that might be popular in "Middle America" just arent popular down here. Boy bands are considered gay by most people here, including women. Only tweens and kiddies enjoy them because they havent been exposed to more adult themed music yet.

I actually applaud sythesized music from all fronts. It makes so much sense to program the beat to loop on an sampler and keyboard instead of paying some fool to stand in the backround playing drums or guitar.
In traditional rock/boy bands there is always one star and a bunch of nobodys in the backround playing instruments.
And the best thing about rap music is that the playing field is even because anyone can do it. It's all about what you say it rather than how beautiful you can sound singing it. Thats called LYRICISM.
Swiftknife24 wrote:Not too impressed with 'Burning in the Skies'. The title sort-of fits, but the track doesn't...
Still say they should use 'Invaders Must Die' by The Prodigy in the film, playing over a fight decisive fight scene!

Fair enough.I actually applaud sythesized music from all fronts. It makes so much sense to program the beat to loop on an sampler and keyboard instead of paying some fool to stand in the backround playing drums or guitar.
So you prefer the easier less talented way out. Fair enough. In traditional rock/boy bands there is always one star and a bunch of nobodys in the backround playing instruments.
This is awesome. In two threads in two days i've now been branded a moron and a nobody. And the best thing about rap music is that the playing field is even because anyone can do it. It's all about what you say it rather than how beautiful you can sound singing it. Thats called LYRICISM.
ahhh now that I can't really agree on. I'm by far no fan of rap, but to say that anyone can do it? nuh uh, no way. I've heard some terrible rapping from people who just should have never bothered.
And really, I have to laugh every time the subject of the soundtrack comes up. I remember when word got out that there was going to be a Sam/Mikaela love song (The Wallflowers?) and people went ballistic, but in the movie you were lucky to hear 5 seconds of it.
LP's contribution to RotF was heard less than Green Day's "21 Guns" while pretty much every other song off both soundtracks was rarely, or never heard.
So frankly, the non-instrumental score is hardly worth getting all worked up over because you hardly hear it anyway. Let's see what the instrumental can do (you know, those nobody's up the back who spent years studying and training to create music themselves and not rely on a pre-programmed synthesizer)

YES! Prodigy! Chemical Brothers! Source Direct, Audio, Panacea, Dom & roland, for gods sake enough with the gay emo nu metal bull*. Lets get some pumping big beat/DNB goin on. More MECH, less BIO.

Was that sarcasm? If it was, whoa! Take it easy! I only said because I like the song! You can't class my taste in music because it's all over the place (and I'm not at all familiar with any of the other groups you mentioned there). It's called a light-hearted comment which I said only because I prefer 'New Divide' to 'Burning in the Skies', (I really shouldn't have to explain myself but) if anything I'm more of a classic rock person. So do try thinking before you post sarcastic replies!
And what the heck are DNB, Mech and Bio where they're at home???

Oy vey, bro I wasn't being sarcastic at all, hahahah. I'm all for prodigy.
I meant more mechnical and less biological, sorry that was a bit vague..got caught up in the excitement. I meant it in regards to the movies just having too much fleshling (coz it's a band that is featured [although not that much thank god, coz the orchestra stuff is much better])and not enough mecha.
DNB is Drum and Bass, my sig link features the genre. And ya man, Rock is killer, Thin Lizzy, Monster Magnet... Ya, if its not going to be robotic music, atleast pick them good rock bands, right? haha
Rated X wrote:Sorry didnt know you played in a band no offense. But honestly sometimes dont you wish you could give the lead singer a big sze 10 boot off the stage and have your time to be in the spotlight ???
Swiftknife24 wrote:I agree with the Score; more Jablonsky, STAT!
And I see what you mean, now!To me, metal/rock is best for anything symbolic of machinery or robotics (best example; 'Iron Man' - Black Sabbath), especially in kick-ass films!

Gotta totally disagree. What associates with robotics better then the electro breakdance songs of the early 80's ??? Complete with vocoder to create robot voices. (similar to todays autotune) Check out this track from 1984 titled "Clear" from none other than "Cybortron". A straight up homage to transformers when they were brand new.

Or how about this one from 1986 titled "Rock the Planet" by "The Megatrons". If I was at an energon bar on Cybertron similar to a Star Wars cantina, I imagine tracks like this would be spinning.![]()

No offense taken. My band is actually a concert band, we're talking brass and woodwind here. When you're put on the Euphonium and not allowed to play Trumpet then yes, there are times you want the spotlight because the bass part can be so bloody boring.
