Maketoys Green Giant (Type 61)
Re: Maketoys Green Giant (Type 61)
I'm glad to hear about these tweaks to Green Giant. Thats the version I'm aiming to get.
Although I gotta say ... for such an expensive set you'd think they'd test their test runs a little more thoroughly. You shouldn't need a large, flawed, first run to shake out all the problems.

You'll have to buy the yellow one and use that head instead

Re: Maketoys Green Giant (Type 61)
I refuse to believe this is legit. This has to be some 4th party type stuff.
Like I said before, the head looks bigger or sits higher in this, and I'm not sure that it would work when transformed as the foot of Hooks robot mode.

Yeah, that head is pretty terrible. But there'll be SOME 4th party upgrade to pick up the slack I have no doubt ... offering up anything BESIDES a good toon-accurate version.

Praying that you're right, man. Or hopefully this is merely one of a few optional faceplates. Otherwise, Dr. Wu will be rubbing his hands with glee.

I sorta like that face. I do hope there's an option though. I don't want to be stuck with that if it doesn't look good in hand.

Yeah, what happened to Yellow Giant's head. Perhaps there will be a couple extra heads in the set to switch them around.

I like the idea of a detachable crane, I don't like how much more extra plastic is added to Devy's shoulder to do it though. I like how Yellow's shoulder is sleeker in the crane area....
It looks like UpGradCommander says end of August now too....OH NO!!!!!! I was hoping July!
What is going on here? Is this like a bad dream? Is it Aprils fools or something?

the more delays we can get on this the better, for me at least. I need time to save money. Of course, I would like some more confirmation as to what exactly it will look like before fully committing.

Well if they are going to start changin a bunch of stuff, it would be cool if they properly painted the faces on these guys to look more G1. Red eyes, and silver faces for the 2 that are dark grey/black.
I can understand people who bought Yellow wanting a break ,or anyone who bought any other big TF purchases. I've only pre-ordered Green though, and have been patiently waiting for it. So this kinda bites.
Eh, guess I should stop complaining though....

I'll wait to to see updated, official photos from Maketoys before I freak out about that head. While it could be legit, it may be a test head they designed some time back.
Plus I bought yellow set C so I have that head too.

There mush be plenty of people with an unneeded spare Yellow head they could part with for little or no money. Seeing as Green has more playability and costs less you can't really complain.

Absolutely wonderful... can't wait! I'll optimistically imagine the new smiley-face head looks better in person. Looks like they were going for a City Commander style face with that, but yeah... looks a bit doofy.

Ok, I see MORE stuff available for this version that the "limited" G2 version that I bought that was supposed to come with EXCLUSIVE EXTRA parts not available with this release. Kiss my ass MT, you won't be getting any more of my money. I hate false advertising.

Currently searching for Cybertron Supreme Starscream & G2 Go-Bots Megatron, Complete at good prices. PM if you can help please.

So the "puppet" head is a posable piece so that he can have a raging expression? That's pretty killer to me! Thanks for the photo updates.

The puppet/rage face is growing on me, I just really don't like that pointy nose. May have to file it down and repaint the silver in the face.

I don't see the scredriver "swords" in this release. That's probably the extra bits.

After Fansproject's City Commander, I don't trust the words "exclusive" anymore. The first release was supposed to be an exclusive (which I purchased quite a few)... and then they added parts to make it different and re-released it.
Also, I remember people saying the yellow version was to come with "exclusive extras"... but I don't think I ever saw an official statement on the matter.
