Maybe, seems more like: "Oh no! They have such a head start, we need to catch up now" and "oooh, this thing had success, so lets try and force it into our movies, even if it doesn't work"

That's what I believed since Batman v Superman. They've been trying to emulate all the stuff working for Marvel, without understanding why it worked.

Apparently the pacing is terrible, and the fight scenes aren't much better since lead actor has no training in martial arts and can't often use a double since he never wears his costume.

That's weird, man. And I was more excited for Iron Fist than I was for Jessica Jones or Luke Cage. It looks to be a more fun adventure than the rest of the Defenders stuff.

I'll still watch it probably, buts it's a shame to hear the MCU has actually put out a dud. But it's probably because Papa Kevin isn't very involved with anything outside of the films proper.

eek. It took 'em 9 years but, it seems Marvel has finally failed. I mean 12%! Thats lower than some of the worst fllms and shows in recent memory. Marvel studios has put out a Netflix show only 3% higher than Fantastic Four (2015). Hopefully this won't happen again for a while. Guardians 2 and Homecoming seem like safe bets but Ragnarok could go either way. It'll either be brilliant or plain awful. That was always the gamble with Thor films. I mean Thor was okay, but TDW was in many people's minds the worst MCU project (up until now apparently)

I actually highly enjoyed both of the Thor films; I maintain that TDW doesn't deserve the dislike it generates. But I will reserve judgement until BURN and Shadowman tell me what ro think about I have actually seen Iron Fist..

I haven't seen it yet either, I'm just relaying the reviews I've seen.

And I think, while the Thor films are the weakest of the bunch, they're still actually really fun movies. That was kind of the cool thing about the MCU; up until now, their absolutely worse had still been "okay."

All of this, the Thor movies have been some of my favorites, they are just fun, good movies, and that can go far for people. And Cap was a great character arc movie which is a thing for film critics and the like, but it failed as an 'action' movie, or any other type of movie. I maintain the iron man 3 and cap 1 are the two marvel movies I will likely never watch again, with guardians being my absolute favorite movie tied with deadpool (but he doesn't count b/c he's a fox production)

And in other news, wb wants another dc movie to be filmed this year despite aquaman, batman, and flash being pushed back, all of the options on their shortlist currently have no one attached and no script...

DC reminds me of the Pointy Haired Boss coming up with useless solutions to problems, where we the fans are Dilbert, the ones telling them about their idiocy to their perpetual apathy, and Marvel is Wally, who does things that we love that either troll DC or just straight up bother them.

Good, some Marvel!

Well, ok, my opinions to throw out there.

Marvel Phase 1 was pretty awesome. Captain America was great, I did like both Iron Man 1 and 2, and the original Thor was also pretty sweet. I also like the first Avengers movie the best.

Phase 2 felt off and not much fun to me. Thor: the dark world is my least favorite film of the marvel movieverse so far, and Iron Man 3 was the worst of the 3 to me. Captain America: Winter soldier was the star of phase 2 to me, and the 2nd Avengers didn't live up to the first one for me, even though I did really enjoy it. Ant Man was pretty cool too, and enjoyable.

Phase 3 so far: Civil was was pretty awesome, still need to see Dr. Strange though it is on my list. I'm hoping thor 3 is much better than 2. And Infinity wars looks really cool too.

Also, I am ok with Iron Man now being in several other movies and not in his own movie. It still works for me.

I also need to catch up on Shield too. I still have episodes from November to watch.

Finally, have we discussed when the 6th infinity stone will make an appearance, and in which movie?

And saying "He does martial arts so he needs to be Asian" isn't exactly being progressive-minded either. Most of the problems I've heard about are largely with pacing and fight choreography, though.
