Masterpiece Grimlock Confirmed?

If this ends up being impressive, I'll buy him.
If he ends up being another redesign (Starscream...), I probably won't.
Still, without 100% concrete evidence, I won't get excited just yet and I certainly won't make a judgment call either.
Patience is a virtue, and I'm willing to wait.

Re: Masterpiece Grimlock Confirmed?
A Masterpiece class Grimlock should come with a wide variety of articulation. Especially the tail part. It should be able to swing in all directions. And the head, it should be able to go up and down and swing side to side.
Takara, don't disappoint us on this.

I hope it's not as bad as MP Prime.
As bad as??? What MP Prime did you buy?

I don't know a single TF, or even TOY collector who would not put MP Prime at the top of any list of toys all time. You can't make statements like that without substantiation.
So lets hear it. What issue could you possibly have with MP Prime?

I find it a bit weird, that a Chinese site posts something looking like an excerpt from a Japanese magazine, without giving the source or us having seen further pictures from that magazine (some people are bound to have what ever magazine that's supposed to be).
The text next to the picture doesn't mention Transformers even once, it goes on and on about Gundam.
I for my part will wait for something a bit more official.
I agree. A full-page scan would at least make that picture 'slightly' more credible. This is hardly a confirmed status, IMO.
Here's hoping for a Masterpiece Arcee

I really hope this is true. Regardless of the price, a Masterpiece Grimlock would be mine!

Nah, they always do *new mold* -> *repaint* -> *new mold* -> *repaint*.
I would be less than surprised if the next one after Grim was TC though (and I'd grab that bugger there n then, which would result in me having more versions of the MP seeker (4) than I have of ANY other mold, even some minicons).
As for the actual point of this thread. Damn shame. G1 Grim's tranformation was virtully spot on already, all he needed was a little extra articulation. I dont see how they will give him a suitably complex transformation for a masterpice figure.
I was hoping for a Rodimus Prime, he'd provide some real fun and ingenious transformation.

Well, the biggest issue is the truck. If i can call it that. The parts don't fit together. The proportions are all wrong. It doesn't look close to a real truck at all.
While the robot is - needless to say - awesome; but without a decent truck to transform into, it just doesn't make sense to me.
What makes Transformers really cool is the magic of transforming into a realistic vehicle. The challenge of fitting the whole robot into a decent vehicular form.
Now, it's ok if this cannot be satisfactorily achieved in minute-sized toys. But for a gigantic Masterpiece set... oh, come on! You must be kidding with that kind of an awfully disfigured truck!

He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. To uses his powers to the fullest, though, he's gotta be feelin' good vibrations; bad karma can seriously harsh his mellow, y'know?

Or the real deal....
"Me Grimlock underproduced."
"Me Grimlock cost three quarters of loan payment at bank."
"Me Grimlock fragile, prone to breakage, fanboy cry."
And then if he's brought over to the US one year later...
"Me Grimlock affordable."
"Me Grimlock not sell well, clearance at Wal-Mart."
"Me Grimlock try to look like cartoon. (Fanboys get mad)"

Yeah, but MP Primes' truck mode looks like his G1 show truck mode, which is exactly what it's supposed to be. If we need to compare vehicle mode accuracy to robot mode accuracy, then why not look at the movie toys? Excellent vehicle modes, truly. Robot modes look like a bunch of random parts, and they hardly fit back together well into vehicle mode. Now, maybe I had bought crappy movie toys, but I really doubt that MP series figures are so shoddily QC'ed. I know about the first MP Starscreams missing fingers, and MP Megatrons' 'rust' issues, but again, I must be the only TF collector who buys toys that have passed QC inspections. My Mps have so far all been fine. I don't know, I suppose if you are just anti-G1 Prime vehicle mode, then I can understand. Really, that semi wasn't a very good looking vehicle, but as far as MP Prime, I'm with Bonger. MP Prime is hands down one of the best TFs ever made, and I hate Optimus Prime. But that figure is pure excellence.

Again how do you guys know it isn't one of the other dinobots after all it is just a outline of a figure, and they could be fooling us by making it look like grimlock.
