Masterpiece Grimlock Confirmed?

I won't get excited until they release the final design because:
1) The prototype MP-SS has the tailfins on the legs but then they released it with them attatched to the hips which makes him hard to balance and restricts leg movement. Then the box claims he's a perfect re-creation of the cartoon...
2) MP-SS is way too small. To be in scale with MP-OP he'd have to be twice as big but they could have at least made him stand the same height rather than 30% shorter.
3) No die-cast parts and they charge the same as MP-OP.
Don't get me wrong, he's still one of my favourites!

Also, his alt mode is patterned after a form that was still in accurate, at the time.
Yes and yes.
I was just thinking how much I'd like to have this figure, and when I read a post questioning just how big he'll be,
I realized I'd rather have a bigger figure than one with lights and sounds.
It would be nice if he were slightly bigger than MP Prime.

Seeing as how they made a (perfect) huge Prime with awesome articulation and metal parts then churned out some repaint (incl. UM) then produced a plastic Starscream that's 10cm shorter followed by a plastic Megatron with very poor articulation, can we really dare to hope they'll produce a Grimlock that is bigger than Prime with such great articulation?

Yes. I'd say we can. Frankly, I believe the Starscream mold is excellent! That's why I have all three versions. Looks amazing and poses well. Megatron is the same. An astoundingly accurate looking Megatron and while his articulation ain't great, it is good.
So yeah, I have faith that if this Grimlock rumour is true, that he has the potential to be an incredible figure. Same as all the Masterpiece line.

Re: Masterpiece Grimlock Confirmed?
I would be able to stomach Grimlock, if he had the MP packaging.
I gave up on MP SS, because the plastic box for him sucks and is too hard to store.
As for scale, I think it's unfair to expect the MPs to be in scale with each other. Yeah, the SS mold is too small, but they have packaging to consider.

Grimlock can be any size. Unlike cars and planes which have established relative sizes.

Actually, Tyrannosaur's have got a certain size that they rarely grew over.

Yeah, we can "dare hope".
Being that Grimlock's transformation is less complex than probably any of the other MP's,
it would be possible to make him big, and with good articulation.

Obviously SS's plane mould couldn't be to scale as he'd need to be twice as long but then the robot mode would tower over Prime which doesn't fit the proportion of the cartoon. But they could have made him taller without the box size being prohibitive - look at Unicron!

Yes it's possible, I just hope they do. I love the Masterpiece range but I feel the quality of design is not the same throughout the range. Some might say I'm too fussy but it keeps the transformers payments down! Some might say I'm a pessimist but if you expect the worst you mostly get pleasantly surprised.
