I don't suppose that any of you here are familiar with the Swiss gun laws? :-?

I would love to get Megs from Anime Export (like I do with all my Takara figures), but I'm really not sure if that could get my in trouble because of customs

Any sort of input would be greatly appreciated

Here's what I want to know, are there any issues with a gun-type robot that shows up in robot mode? I don't THINK they'll ship this guy in alt-mode, and from what I remember MP5 didn't ship in alt mode (neither did Apollyon), yet most of the G1 versions and re-issues did ship in alt mode which can cause an issue with customs. My only real complaint with this figure is all the flat grey plastic. No silver paint ANYWHERE? Either that's a sacrifice to keep cost down, or cartoon accuracy taken too far.

The only figure that I have that would sorta qualify for that is MP Shockwave. But since he turns into a space-gun-thingy and is colored purple, they're not really comparable. But I had absolutely no trouble getting him.
Megs on the other hand, I could see being a problem even when he comes in robot mode, since that'll most likely show his gun mode as well...

It's what's keeping me from getting this figure right away. I'm gonna wait to see what the next release looks like. Even if it takes 3 years.

He did ship in alt mode didn't he?! Good old purple space gun :lol:

It's one thing if the box shows it, but if they are just scanning it x-ray style..well I guess they'd see "parts" of the gun and get worried. Drat.

I don't think I'm going to wait for another version. Grey or silver, doesn't really matter to me.
That insignia bugs me though. I don't know why Takara suddenly introduced it after so many figures. Or why stick in on someone as prominent as Megatron.

Why not tampo the classic symbol and give fans the option to apply "Sunbow" stickers over it?

Anyway, who knows, the slightly different deco some are waiting for could be a Takara Mall exclusive like MP-14+ and all the jets that aren't Starscream.

How is that related? Customs wont see the cover of the box. Scaners cant pick it up. This is what will happen guys: nothing.

Countless members here have bought MP 05 from Lena, if anybody had it seized please speak up. If anyone ever had any transformer seized ever, please speak up. These are plastic toys, nothing will show up in the scanners, people are making mountains out of molehills, the only reason BBTS issued that statement is to cover their ass because they are an american company shipping to americans and have their own merchant laws to abide by. That is not applicable to imports.

Swiss customs almost always open boxes, especially if the come from Asia, so they'll definitely get a look at the alt mode

And yeah I just checked, Shocky shipped in gun mode

I will be picking this up since my only Megatron figures are MP-05 & that leader class Combiner Wars figure, but I could see how one would be unwilling to pay such a steep price if they had a third party figure they are happy with.

That's how I feel about the MP Primes we've gotten since MP-01. I went years without one hoping they'd make one without a trailer to bring down the price since I have absolutely no use for a stand alone trailer (from any toy line if it doesn't combine with the figure). With or without the trailer the red truck is still complete Optimus Prime. Heck they even released Black Convoy without the trailer so the possibility was there.

However, I don't have the same feeling about Megatron. Those extra parts are what sets his gun mode apart from the other Walther P38s out there. I find the parts to be essential and completely displayable without taking up a lot of extra space.

To be a little more fair, the original G1 Megatron toy that Takara released in Japan in 1985 wasn't silver either. It was flat gray.

he looks... alright. definitely better than the first attempt. but the feet are skinny, his collar looks like it was in a car crash, and i feel like his crotch is choppy. not bad, really, but i feel like most of the 3rd party guys look better than this.

It depends on what country you are sending Megs to. Some have really looney laws. Iirc on a not so related topic, the 3DS version of DOA Dimensions was banned in some parts of Europe. It was rated Teen for the US. Why? Because there were supposedly "underage" (below 18) characters. Heck despite it's notoriety, the 3DS version was one of the most sanitized versions of the game.

Then we get this anti gun mentality over in Europe (not mention the same issue in the US which is really stupid) then :michaelbay:
