The moonligh part. Look, thats what I (and everyone who listens to the podcast) heard and it makes sense that 3p companies know what's going on at takara if they are all releasing the same characters at the same time before Takara unveils theirs.

I have to say, I'm...not as impressed as I perhaps should be.

The grey finish (which I sincerely hope is a placeholder) instead of silver is a major bummer, and the back is just a complete mess. The gun mode does look good but I have a sneaking suspicion that he'll be a nightmare to transform. And honestly? I know it's cartoon accurate but the proportions ain't doing it for me. They're almost TOO cartoon accurate. Despotron cleans up a lot better, has a nice silver finish and his proportions, whilst not entirely accurate, look a lot cooler, and fits better IMO with MP-10.

In fact I think MP-10 is worth mentioning here. MP-10, widely considered THE definitive transforming Optimus Prime, isn't THAT cartoon accurate. He has silver instead of white, slightly different proportions and a lot more detail than his cartoon model. IIRC the designer said this was intentional- that a "perfect" cartoon Optimus Prime wouldn't be that great a toy. I feel like that has been forgotten with these latest MPs, including Megatron.

Oh there is, and he's staying with me!! I may like his alt mode better based on the preliminary shots. When everything squishes together just right, it's gives you the feels.

I think you have the cause and effect reversed. Once third-parties got word an MP Megatron 2.0 was in the works, they cranked out their own as quickly as possible.

Well HasTak and most 3Ps are actually fairly chummy, and frequently share ideas with each other. It wouldn't surprise me if they share designers here and there.

I can answer that on the canadian front and apparently, our laws are similar (with Canada having stricter gun laws).

They are removeable. Some of these plugs were glued but that was early on, we havent sene that in a while.

About importing, which is what I will be doing for cost purposes, it can be held for a while but it wont be seised. At least not from my experience. I imported MP 05 twice and it didnt have a plug and it came smoothly. However, I also imported a reissue of G1 megatron who was in gun mode and made of metal. I dont know if you own that toy but it looks like a real gun. And it was held at cutoms, opened, investogated and then given their literal seal of approval. But it did get to me safe and sound in the end. So, assuming our laws are similar, it can be held at customs, and your package can be opened but it will not be outright seized. Him being in robot mode, I think it will get a safe passage and I will be importing him from japan.

Answer to both, yes.

Just to clarify, Yes the Japanese companies also insert the orange plug, or yes, you're taking a risk? If the latter, then BBTS is pretty much the only option as I'm not taking that chance...
