The ingredient to slap Prime name and it will sell well may work to the general public, well I ain't one of those folks. I maybe a sucker to a white Magnus or UMagnus figure, but for an official product, if his name isn't label as Ultra Magnus, he will not be welcome into my Magnus/UM collection. With that being said, a big pass to 711 Total Commander Convoy from me. Although I don't support KO TF, in this case I'm glad KO MP10U exists.

You will understand the concept if you only collect by character like me. So I'm more strict compared to normal collectors since I just don't base on mold/colors alone. To me, this Total Commander Convoy/ Supreme Commander is referring to OPrime, not the UM character.

That 7-11 promo is hideous. For those who want this deco without the the advertising there is a high quality KO thats been out for a while.

Supposedly, those are stickers, and it comes with Autobot sigils.

Seibertronian Cyberpath has pointed us toward a tweet by a Japanese 7-11 account that features the first image of Takara MP-711's collector card. MP-711 is the recently-revealed redeco of the classic MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime inspired by the famous convience store chain. Check out the card below!

Even though I live in Japan and my friend runs a local 7-11, I am STILL not getting this. Just like the recent Pioneer earphones, Takara is smoking crack if it thinks it can charge the price for either of these releases. The KO version is BOUND to come out later on and will be a fraction of the cost and the same, if not better quality.

So you're not into it, thats clear. But I'll say for the 3rd time, the KO MP-10 is NOT a high quality figure.

I haven't had one myself, but from the quality of the Wei Jiang KOs I've had, and from reviews at places like Ben's Collectibles on YouTube, I think they're a good chance of a high, if not higher than official quality set. I'm actually into this official set, due to my high shopping rate at 7-11 Japan. The price is disgusting though, IMO, hence the desire for a more affordable KO.

However, even if the quality is a bit off, it's no problem for me, as I've got the original, G1 official version.


Anyway, here's a review of one such KO to help give a better picture of KO quality. I can't remember how it fared so it's here for either side of the argument.

I know nothing of the MPP10's, as I don't own any or done any research. But I do have one KO MP-10 (the White Magnus) and it's awful. And If you watch the video you posted, at 5:15 he starts talking for a couple minutes about how it looks good, but feels dodgy. He also stands it next to his Hasbro MP-10 saying it's much more solid in comparison, but his (official) MP-10SG is actually worst of the three. My MP-10SG is fine though, and I haven't heard anything negative about the QC on that version elsewhere.

As for the price though.... it's an exclusive. They're expensive, it's their nature. And actually, you of all people have the least to complain about supposedly having one in your backyard being run by a friend

However, 7-11 isn't an expensive brand. This is why I believe it's too expensive. That's why I'm going to get the KO.

It's only ¥3,000 more than a normal MP-10, that seems reasonable for a special limited store exclusive. It's also the same price as MP-10 Convoy Mode "Eva". Sure, it sucks that you have to pay full retail, but that's expecting too much for an item with no retail competition.

It's still a better deal than BAPE Convoy, those are ¥5,000 more than retail on a lower cost figure.

Since this summer, we had seen very little in terms of the Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-10 7-11 edition, a white redeco (totally not Ultra Magnus) of the base Optimus Prime / Convoy mold with the chain's green, orange and red logo and theme.
