Yep, I'm a Texan. I doubt these will fly off the shelves, because of their price tag. Then again, I may not be the only one around here who knows their stuff...

I was at a different Wal-Mart today and decided to ask for the UPC to be checked...and I got lucky. I got the store's assistant manager, herself, to help me.

And she told me something that I had never heard before, but it applies to all stores (I double checked with a local store)

If the UPC appears as "not on file" or NOF, that specific store will not be carrying it. If it shows up in the computer or the Telzone, that store will be carrying it. Any store in the chain will recognize it, in case of returns or Ship To Store, but again, not every store in the chain will carry it. Also, for future reference, in case you can't find it, it's intended to be a Christmas sales item, that's why it's not on any mods and there's no shelf tag. Don't worry about not finding it yet, if it's in the system, we, the company will carry it. Period.

So, there you have it. Any store that can pull it up, will be carrying it. The stores that don't, won't.

Fortunately, both of my local Wal-Marts will be carrying it. So, yay!

...the Christmas item thing...I've never heard of that before. Anyone have any insight on that? O_o...

r u saying that if it says in the telzone that the item does exist then the store will carry it? im a bit confused on that one because there are zero in store/enroute

I'm just north of Columbus, in Delaware. I checked out both the local Wal Mart here and the one in Lewis Center on 23. No such luck.

Someone's got the Starscream figure for me. Which is awesome. I can hardly wait.

I too would be willing to pay the extra buck for anyone who would buy me one and send to Brazil. I don't want to be scalped off me head by those ***** on eBay with SS going for as high as $150.

If it's 50 bucks, I could pay $100 for it including shipping. How that sounds to anyone who come across a few shelves full of it?

Called the Walmart Corp.. Told me the official release date for this figure is Nov 15.. Dont know if anyone else heard this.. Dont think this is true considering Texas, and Missouri already have seen SS Masterpieces availble for sale.. Also what does the case look like that the Starscream comes is it 2 to a case? I live in Tampa, Florida.. Anyone in Florida seen this figure anywhere. Thanks

Yes. If an item's in their computers, then they will carry it. If it's not in the computer, then they won't.

Even though the computers for the stores and warehouses say zero on order, zero on hand, etc...the stores will get them as soon as possible and they will be on the shelves for sale before we know it.

2-4 weeks, we'll see full saturation I'd say.

Thanks for the confirmation. I called a local WalMart earlier today and they said they did have any and none were on the way...I was disappointed.

Just to make sure one more time, so if it comes up on their system, I'm assuming it did since they lady told me "$48.88...we have none in the store and I'm not expecting any."

If their Telzones (the computer guns) show it on file, price and all...they will receive it sooner or later.

It if comes up NOF (Not On File) and they can't find it at all in their system, then that store will not be carrying it.

Since you can return any item and pick up Ship To Store at any store, all the stores are tied into their home office in Bentonville Arkansas, and they can at least see that the item is available through Wal-Mart, even if that specific store doesn't sell it.

For example, I've seen wireless keyboard/mouse combos at one Wal-Mart 15 miles away, but my hometown one never carried it. It never showed in their system. However, when it broke down and I needed to return it, I was able to. Their system can read the receipt barcode, pull the information from their home office in AK, verify the original sale and give you the refund or exchange. Even if that store doesn't carry the product, whatever it may be.

And just because she's not expecting any, doesn't mean jack diddly squat. The toy department manager handles all ordering, but if it's in their Telzones, it's coming, whether she ordered it or not.

Wal-Mart has a really weird system. I still haven't figured it out.

use this at the walmart.. they can imput into the telezone and see how many they have in stock, how many in transits, meaning it should be available very soon, in the system means that they will get it eventually..Hope this helps

I found two at the Walmart here in New Orleans. They were hidden behind the MP Primes, so I'm assuming some scalper was coming back for them. It was nice to have a pick as to which one I wanted...I'm actually shocked the South has been getting this figure so early.

Ah well, I'll post pics tomorrow when I get a camera from my girlfriend, he looks simply awesome. He's also heavier than I expected and the weathering also isn't as severe as I expected it to be.

I've been reading everyone's comments and I'm thinking that the difference in distribution pattern on MP SS (i.e. the south getting him first, with no luck anywhere else yet) is due to the distribution centers of WalMart and not Hasbro sending to various store distribution centers and then them distributing from there.

I'm no expert on the subject, so maybe it's just a coincidence.

I'm not sure how Wallyworld handles their exclusives but I know that every time I checked for ALT Rumble and Ravage, they were not even listed on the WM website.

Target lists their exclusives online (except for G1 Starscream, dunno why?) but you cannot buy them from the web.

I'd start planning on a walmart run or an ebay purchase....

This really doesn't suprise me at all-the part about stores stocking them. I'm sure the managers looked at the slow moving Primus and DVD Prime figures and just decided not to order any Starscreams. While I suspect we'll see SS in most Walmarts, it wouldn't suprise me at all if stores decide to stock him based on the number of other high dollar Tformers already sitting on their shelves. This is pure speculation but if you're a store manager, it's something you're going to think about. We're probably going to start seeing posts of some stores with tons of them and others who got none-same old same old.

Since we haven't seen him many places yet, it will be interesting to see just how this all pans out. With all of the guessing going on right now, I'm happier to see that my MP SS shipped out this AM.

Here's a few more pics to enjoy. This really is a nice piece. I really like the complexity of the transformation. The paint job is really clean. My first Masterpiece other than 20th Anni Prime (not really a Masterpiece IMHO since the paint apps were so spotty).
