CW Nosecone, Lightsteed and UW Afterburner could always be used as the new Technobots in IDW after their counterparts died at Kimia.

It's probably what Hasbro's gonna force IDW to do, anyway...

I love the UW Afterburner Guns, bit the mounting choices are so random, and so often times one blocks the other from connecting tightly.

I build a super gyn using the barrel sans sjield from Hadbro's Scattorshot. I plugged UW Nosecone's Rifle into the back of it facing backwards. I plugged CW Afterburner's guns forwards into Nosecone's Rifle's double hole. Then I plugged each of UW Scattorshots guns into Afterburner's, with each of Strafe's long guns as barrel extensions and attached Nosecones two shorter pistols to the tops of Strafe's guns, tilted 45* inward. Its a gun only Afterburner can hold though, as the handpeg for Nosecone's rifle has to fit into the wheel well for Afterburner. I could attach Lifhtspeed's two guns, but I have them mounted to Computron's thighs. Strafe's small gun sits on Computron's bicep.

Hasbro Nosecone as SG Brawl? Lightspeed as MTMTE Red Alert (to steal Counterpunch's idea, for the record)? Strafe as Wing? UW Afterburner as Vroom?

CW Nosecone- Heatrovk
CW Strafe- SkyFeather
Add in Rook and CW Mirage, and you get the Big Rescue Force guys. You can even use the tilt hinge in Mirage's spoiler, snd a suitable HFG to make the rocket launcher from tge Jallugar mold.

CW Giftset Scattorshot makes a passing Cloudrake, if you need to.

CW Lightspeed- Red Alert. Yes, he should be a Lambo, but the bot mode colors are right and he has the lightbar.

You could also try swapping the heads around for some more variety; like CW Lightsteed's head with UW Afterburner's.

Anyway, looks to me like using Takara Scattershot and Nosecone would be a must, the other three, I really don't feel strongly about either way. Takara's combining gun is a must, but Hasbro's hands & feet are refreshing after so many HGF's.

And I totally agree with the Scrounge fan, he shouldn't be locked up in an expensive set.

The fact that he was officially made, is a miracle in of itself. With something that niche, you gotta expect him to be expensive. Besides, you can buy him separately off of eBay for less than 50 bucks. Not TOO insane if you ask me.

I've had him on my eBay search for past couple months and nothing's come up other than complete computron sets. And '50 bucks' may not be much to you but for me it's a huge amount especially for such a small figure and would like need additional shipping costs to the UK where I am. I say again I wish he had just been released seperately in the £10 line especially since I never even saw the original mold Cosmos for sale anywhere around these parts either.

I personally prefer the Hasbro release, the drill on Takaras Nosecone just sticking out so much really bugs me and in my opinion looks dreadful. The robot and vehicle mode are great, I just wish that the drill could be stored better and not stick out so much...

i never had the g1 computron i only saw him on cartoon and takaras to me is the clear winner

Now that is lovely. Nosecone still sticks out like a bad thumb with a hilariously tiny drill attachment, but the main problem's fixed and it looks amazingly better even if it didn't have the new chest - just that head is enough.

To be honest, the only thing about Nosecone I don’t much care for is the turret being yellow. Yes, the Brawl mold is kind of blech, but overall he makes a fine limb (and this set will always be posed as Big Red anyway). It actually feels to me like they fixed a bit of the QC issues with the Brawl mold here, too.

I just don't have the money and I have realized I'll be more content with the hasbro one than I thought I would be. It has a lot of bonuses that I now appreciate more thanks to those 2 stories

Duuuude... we've been going on about UW Nosecone's drill for months on end, and you're just gonna give up on that?

Duuuude... we've been going on about UW Nosecone's drill for months on end, and you're just gonna give up on that?

I just don't have the money.

Plus, I can probably find one on Ebay at some point to go with Computron

Keep in mind that my set is the Combiner Wars box set PLUS the Perfect Effect PC-11 kit. Cost-wise, it comes out to roughly the same price to buy these together as it did for the pre-order price for the UW Computron.

Thanks, but I'm not too worried about the 3rd party add-ons. I'm ok with what Hasbro already has on it

Agreed. The add on sets are great, but I actually really love the look of him as is. And his hands/feet need no upgrades

No problem. Based on your previous quote, I simply didn't want people to think that my pictures were showing the standard box set and then be surprised when they ordered the set and it was something different.

For me, the PE addon makes for a really nice G1-homaged set, so I wanted to show people how it looked.
