I really like what you've done with the CD Hot Shot mold. Very realistic with the tank parts and silver paint. Any plans to follow up with the rest of the CD team?

Hm... I have been meaning to ask for some time... Is this the LOC CD Hot Shot? Cause it looks rather tiny imo...

Nope, no plans for the other CD team. In fact, I don?t even own any of the others yet. I chose CD Hotshot simply because of the relative similarity to WWI Megatron when in robot mode.

Nope, I used the Delux sized CD Hotshot. Measured from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head, he stands about 5.75". Over-all though, he stands about 7.25" tall(if measured to the tip of the track assemblies on his shoulders)

He's super-bulky but still manages to be amazing! The details, the paint! I like it a lot

Thanks. Massive was what I wanted, so, looks like it worked. Anyway. wait until the decals are on. I?m gonna try and find some transparent waterslide decal paper for ink jet printers and use that instead of the standard white sticker paper I normally use. I think it would be more effective.

look in the model isle yo... can pick up a testors water slide decal kit for less than $10.... print it off on any ubble jet printer... works rather well. and its cheaper than buying everything from reprolabels * even though i love that place*

Yeah, Hobbytown carries the Waterslide paper, but usially all they have is the Laser printer version, not the ink jet. I?m gonna check tomorrow to see if they have the ink jet version. If not, I?ll try Michaels.

Well, we don?t have Meijer in Buffalo, but we do have the other two. As I said, I?ll be checking my primary sources first, then those, if they don?t check out.

simpley astounding, you know, we need a real good how-to paint article, as much as i love jin's and his new updated one, it really doesn't apply to TFs as much as others. Tramp has a real good eye for detial with the paints! Kudos tramp!

Me? I use many different techniques depending upon the effect I?m looking for, which varies from model to model This is only the second tranformer where I have used such an extensive amount of drybrushing. For Megatron, and previously for my Alpha Trion, I simply used standard drybrushing of metallics (usually silver) over a black base coat, with overcoats of colored clear coats in the colored areas. It?s a simple three-step process (not counting disassembly and reassembly). Step one, paint on the black base coat (I usually use gloss black) and let dry completely. Step two, drybrush on your metallic paint and let dry fully. (Note: This step may need to be repeated multiple times to build up the desired level of color.) Step three, add colored clear coats where desired. For Megatron, I used clear red, clear orange and clear yellow. The red was used on part of the insides of his calves, on the vents at the back of his calves, on his elbows, and in a spot on his cod-piece. the clear orange was for his eyes, and the clear yellow on the large and small circles on the right breast-plate.

Here?s another little teaser for you guys. It?s the bio text going on his card.

Function: Leader

?Peace through tyranny.?

Profile: To MEGATRON?, the words love, compassion, and mercy have absolutely no meaning. Powerful, arrogant, and cruel, he leads the DECEPTICONS? through a combination of brute strength, military cunning, ruthlessness and terror, expecting the unadulterated adulation of all as a natural benefit of his very existence. Shows no gratitude, nor appreciation, simply because he cannot even fathom others not accepting his superiority over them, and considers all others to be his inferiors?mere tools whose only existence is to recognize his glorious destiny as ruler. Believes he is destined for greatness, and will let nothing interfere with his grandiose and far-reaching plans for conquest of the entire universe.

Abilities: MEGATRON is immensely powerful, intelligent, and resistant to damage. He transforms into a Cybertronian mega-tank that can transverse almost any terrain on his four caterpillar treads. Armed with multiple heavy weapons including missile launchers, and a 50 calibre machine gun. His primary weapons are his high-energy fusion cannon, which can be attached to weapon mounts on either his turret or right forearm, depending upon which mode he?s in, and his shoulder-mounted hyper-velocity rail gun, which fires devastating kinetic rods that can penetrate even the strongest armors with still enough energy to escape a planet?s atmosphere. Turret provides both weapons with full 360? firing arc in vehicle mode. Wields a diamond-edged sword for hand-to-hand combat, which will cut through virtually any armor.

Weaknesses: MEGATRON has no known physical weaknesses.

Well, Megatron is officially DONE!!!!! I just finihed applying the decals, and they look great, especially the Decepticon symbols. There are only 7 decals total on him?three Decepticon symbols (one large one on his left breast plate, just like WWI Megs, and two smaller ones one each on either side of his turret)), two sets of Autobot ?Kills? symbols (one set each above the rear treads), and two ?Megatron? name stencils (at the base of the turret, one on each side under the weapon mounts). Next step, the Gallery pics, then finishing his Bio card.

Well, I just sent the gallery submission in, so it shouldn?t be too long before Dev gets them up (hopefully).

Hey, DF, what do you think of the bio card text I came up with?

I can't read it, it was too small on the bio card and my attempts to enlarge it have been somewhat lacking.

edit: I just noticed that you had it higher up in this thread in a normal post.

sounds like the arrogant buggar alright!

For his profile, I kind?ve took elements from his profiles on Seibertron.com and in Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #3, mixed them together and reworded them to create a unified whole.

I used two 1/72 scale WWII German JagdPanzer model kits made by a company called Dragon. I got them at my local Hobbytown USA The front track assemblies are the entire chassis of one tank?except the turret?cut in half length-wise. The back track assemblies required me to cut the chassis apart and rebuild them in a new configuration; in essence, build a new chassis.
