Michael Bay close to signing deal for Transformers 4!
Re: Michael Bay close to signing deal for Transformers 4!
I often wonder why there is always so much over analyzation that goes into Michael bay, and the TF movies. Weren't all the genres different in their own way? Why aren't they just another different genre? I totally understand if someone doesn't like them...but why aren't they just viewed as another transformers storyline? Like all the other different ones we've had since 84. Theres always so much "f Michael bay" or "he crapped on my childhood". G1 will always be "THE" story, but bays movies should just be "ANOTHER" story and nothing more. Just my opinion. I mean, more people love beast wars, and they didn't even transform into cars, LOL.

Well... Believe it or not, people where pretty angry at BW.
Funny that people who like Transformers don't handle change all that well.

Yeah, Transformers fans have a tendency to react negatively to things they've only seen small amounts of. People were decrying the Bay films just from concept art alone, Animated was given grief after they released just a single promotional poster, and Beast Wars got the ol "TRUKK NOT MUNKEY," until we realized "Wait, no, this series is amazing."

People loved BW because it actually had good stories. Bayformers didn't.

That's because the robot designs were crap in both Bayformers and Animated.
Yes, even Slipstream.

I do not blame Michael Bay for crapping all over a huge part of my childhood. He just directed the scripts that were given to him. I blame Orci, Kurtzman, and Krueger, who seem completely incapable of concocting a story that even halfway makes sense.

Did you notice that most of the designs in Animated are only slightly tweaked versions of G1 designs? Most people hated the art style, not the designs. And the human villains, I can understand hating them. The the basic designs are almost all from G1.

You call this "slightly tweaked"?

Well, at least he wasn't a monkey.

Yep. All the design elements are there, just slightly distorted for the art style of the show.

He can direct as many TF movies as he wants, but for the love of God, will someone please hand him a decent script? Seriously.

I'm not sure that will help much.
Any Bay film that I ever enjoyed seemed to be due to the actors in the film, not the script.

He needs some sort of constraining influence; a co-director, perhaps? Someone that can prune potential narrative issues before they bloom, and slow down Bay's manic shooting / editing style.

that would work, but I dont see Bay accepting that kind or arrangement.

“It’s terrific, to have people that interested in something. It reminds you that it is a real honor to work on something that means so much to people,” Nolan said. “I’d love to be able to claim that I invented the whole thing and that’s why they’re interested. I did not. I’ve been given a very precious thing to do my best with, to look after and not to let people down. There’s a certain amount of fear that comes with it and intimidation but it’s also a great privilege. [As for the fans], they want it to be great, they want to go enjoy it and they’re fascinated by it. You know, there’s always controversy regarding things that people will disagree with but hopefully they appreciate the effort of trying to make something good.”

Dude,I really hope that was a joke. I dont like to pass judgments on the taste of others, but if your really telling me that you have only EVER enjoyed films because of size of the explosions , and by that alone you judge the quality of any film, then I feel sorry for you.
There have been a lot of films that sport great stories with great performances with no explosions at all that are just fantastic.

Exactly. The problem is that people are looking for what isn't there. I keep looking for money in my bankaccount, but it just isn't there. Seems useless, doesn't it?

I would say that they are looking for what we should have gotten....and thats where the real problem lies.
