I sadly will not be watching Transformers in 3D, I await a personal letter to convince me otherwise.

I actually know a few people whom work as projectionist and such, in various theaters, it will be fun to see how much truth there be behind this letter muahahahahaha
Unless we have some theatre workers already present at this forum? So whats the word? Did ya get a letter?
YRQRM0 wrote:Agreed. You can bash what he does to the Transformers, and talk about how much better a G1 movie would be, but you can't say he doesn't know what he's doing from a theatrical pov.

Yeah, he's a real hero all right.
Is he going to pay for this? From all the money he made from those "stupid Saturday morning cartoons..." Movies? (An actual quote from Bay on WHY he would NOT make a Trasnformers movie...oh, wait, he did. What a spineless sell out).
Theaters are suffering right now. Like it or not, they are. 70 - 90 percent of box office totals get turned back to the studio. Theaters survive on concession sales. (Which is why they are so bloody expensive. Movie companies REFUSE to take a smaller cut at the box office. So, their greed trickles to the consumer, aka, you.) Projectors are turned down for a reason: cost efficiency on BOTH the projector bulbs (which are SUPER expensive) AND the electricity it takes to run them.
Bay probably didn't even write this letter. I doubt he can even read. Much less care about anyone or anything but his fat pockets. This letter has NOTHING to do with Bay being a hero. He's an egotistical no-talent ass clown who sold out to do 3 Transformers movies to bail out his failing career. He's just trying to milk this for all it's worth.

Yes I can. Micheal Bay doesn't know what he is doing. Ever see one of his films? They're a F'ing mess. And NO. Micheal Bay has NO CLUE on how to run a movie theater. The man can't even thread a projector. Seriously guys.
Don't be so quick to lick Bay's filthy toes. There's other sides to this story, and a reason why things are they way they are. If Bay was such a hero, he'd take a smaller cut of the box office to help struggling theaters to pay for this expense. 90 percent of box office tickets goes back to Paramount and Bay. How much of that is he going to give back to the theaters? Not a f'ing dime.
He's a greedy money mongering whore. He does't care about you, about Transformers (obviously), theaters, or even a movie presentation. He just wants more $$$. He's a sell out. Why else would he make 3 films for a franchise that he called "stupid Saturday morning cartoons!"

Wah.
For that 10-30 percent that you do get, it is your responsibility to have the best equipment possible for the highest quality product. If that is something you do not agree with, you can do 1 of 2 things. Get the studios to make a better deal with you or get the hell out of the theater business.
If this letter indeed came from Bay, I congratulate him for standing up for the top-notch product that he has produced and making sure its presentation doesn't get butchered due to cheap equipment or incompetent operators of a projector.

The Ignorance if this post, and the like minded fools who agree with this are staggering. First of all, your information is wrong, second of all, if you don't like the current status of the franchise, sit it out and wait for G1 to return.
The truth is, Mbay takes no salary for the movie, nor does he get any royalties. That's right, none. You see he opts out of them and takes a cut of the merchandise profits. So in theory, the movie could be a POS and it will only effect his future job possibilities. Him going out to send letter to the projectionists is a huge step in wanting quality for something outside of his control. I already respected the man for his directing and producing abilities, but this is just above and beyond, especially since he really doesn't have a monetary gain to get out of it.
Some of you think you know how the systems works, but you have no f$%^ing clue. You ignorant blowholes are the reason the fan base on gets taken 50% to credibility. Nothing but a bunch of ignorant whining children who are mad because BumbleBee isn't a Volkswagen Bug. Get over it, and stop blaming the Director. You know that Hasbro and Paramount have 90% control of story, characters and Direction right? Mbay is not the creator. He is just the guy that puts everyone else's **** together, and even tries to throw things in for the fans, even though it's not his job.
Go get educated on how the industry works, then you can complain.
unbelievable.

The problem with ROTF was that it was written during a writers' strike.
He admitted this, and unless you thought both movies were crap on all levels, don't judge DOTM based on that.
