I kinda figured that, I was just pointing out the irony.Autobot032 wrote:Nemesis Cyberplex wrote:You're like the 578,452.2nd person to point this out. Most people got it the first time, yet people keep saying it over & over because for some reason everybody seems to get some kind of odd sight problem where on their screen "g1" gets replaced with "candy" so all they see is, "this is not candy".......Autobot032 wrote:*sighs* I wish people would get one key fact:
THIS IS NOT G1.
It will not be G1, this is a complete reboot to the series and a brand new take on it.
Anywho, like all franchises, people want to see key parts of the mythology recreated. For Transformers, if you asked anybody what key plot point they remember from G1....it'd be stuff from the movie, such as Prime's death, & after that would probably be Unicron & Meg's upgrade to Galvy, followed shortly by the Quintessons. & I'd just about guarantee that every single thing I've mentioned will be seen in some shape or form before the movie franchise is over. Hell, one of the producers (Desanto?) already said they had an idea on how they could put the Dinobots & Devastator in the next one, & that character introduction followed very closely behind the introduction of G1 as a whole, so I really doubt they are plannig on straying too terribly far from the source of the 20+ year franchise.....to an extent it'd be like doing Spider-man's origin story in the first movie & from there leaving out every key villan in the Spider-man franchise to come up with their own. No thank you.
edit, BTW, I find it kinds funny that you used a variation the G2 slogan of "This isn't your father's Transformers" to make your point....especially since, aside from a few new ones, G2 was almost entirely made up of "your father's Transformers" with craptastic paint jobs, & the cartoon was "your father's Transformers cartoon" with some fancy(& annoying) CG screen transitions.
Actually, G2 had nothing to do with my using that term. Until you mentioned it, I had completely forgotten about it. (That's what happens when you sell off all 12 issues of that craptacular series. That and trying to forget it.)
Again, my post was not based on G2 at the time, so therefore you have no point on that issue.
Transformers Generation 2. It was the original G1 cartoon with some CG intros & a few CG transition screens thrown in. nothing to write home about.Sonray wrote:Wait, G2 had a cartoon? What was it called?

Calenatarion wrote:As mentioned before, the actors of the Transformers Movie for this summer have signed on 3 movies. But it apparently doesn't end at 3 movies if it's up to Michael Bay...
According to GrendelKhan from Clantsu.org, Michael Bay told the press at the Koren Press Conference for the World Premier Pictures, that if Transformers 1, 2 and 3 are a succes, they would do a fourth and fifth movie as well!
Note that this is a fairly new source and therefor we have listed this as a rumor for now.

I'm waiting to see the film to make a final call, but as of right now I'd prefer this to be the only one made by this team. I'd rather not see my namesake, or Grimlock, or Arcee (see movie version for the ugliest Transformer ever made) get the Bay-former treatment.

Then, we'll see.
Hell, we don't even know if Bay and Co. will still have a contract 3,4,5 years down the line.
All will be told July 4th, let's just leave it at that.
