Buttz wrote:I agree with Hot Rod. I read an article (in WIRED I think) that describes Bay as "more of a jock than a geek." I thought that was a perfect analogy. Here we have someone who embodies the "showbiz" aspect of filmmaking and has an utter disregard, perhaps even contempt, for the artistic potential of the medium. The directors mentioned above all have one thing in common, and that is a maniacal passion for making movies; you know they'd still be doing it even if there was no money involved. With Bay it is clear that this is not the case.
Robinson wrote:One thing everyone always seems to forget. Every company and distributor that transformers was brought to passed on it. They said NO. So what makes you think any other directors wouldn't feel the same way. Even Bay said no the first time. NO one, I repeat NO one wanted this project to go anywhere.
Robinson wrote:Yes thats the exact reason that Bay cut his cost by 30% in order to work with his crew that he has worked with for years and not just leave them high and dry while he goes to canada with a whole new crew. Yeppers Bay is in just for the money, you hit the nail on the head with that one.
i think a smell a "geewhunner"..... either that or my puppy just pooped on the floor.....Buttz wrote:ah crap. I hope he goes and does one of the "couple things... on the horizon" and they hire someone- ANYONE - else for the sequel.

but it's not based off of the g1 cartoon it's a whole different transformers universe..... this has been stated about a billion times since the movie was first announced....Buttz wrote:Barricade wrote:i think a smell a "geewhunner"..... either that or my puppy just pooped on the floor.....Buttz wrote:ah crap. I think it's the poop. There is no way that a cartoon aimed at young boys can be successfully adapted into a live action motion picture 20 years later without making some substantial changes. Anyone who expected a carbon copy of the cartoon is pretty delusional. This movie is just bad filmmaking.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I think we're in agreement over this point.
