This pic finally convinced me to pick up the Platinum set ... and, of course, my TRU just sold the last one. They had several as of last week. :-(

You gotta love how they dont show the hasbro cons in robot mode. The onslaught looks great, but really makes the other four limbs look like crap. They might as well make another four limb bots stylized like their onslaught and the hell with the add on set. It looks awesome but im satisfied with the x transbots sets. The void was filled for me.

Think the FOC Combaticons toys are beyond help. Think the toys have serious negative sculpting, engineering, colors and QC issues. POV, Dressing up inferior toys is not my cup of tea. Spending close to or over $100 for add ons when the base molds won't get fixed is like putting a bandaid on a car crash.

I'm getting pretty impatient for this guy, and quite frankly, also losing interest...

If he doesn't come soon, I'm probably just going to cancel my order and sell my Platinum Edition Bruticus & Grimlock set... Combiner Wars is on the horizon, and I'll want to throw my money in that direction instead.

yeah. sometimes its quite surprising to see a (seemingly) finished product, and then waiting months for actual release...

Delays for classics style figures really don't bother me too much.
That stuff is up and displayed all the time.

When (and if) this guy comes out I'll enjoy him.
If he never comes out I'll save the $$$.

For me, movie related things need to be timely or I loose interest.
I also tend to clear out old movie stuff to make way for the new.

Totally agree on movie related stuff, but that's the thing, I consider video game stuff to be similarly timely, so I'm beginning to lose interest. Especially with Combiner Wars on the horizon.

For me its never too late to get my hands on a cool figure. The movieverse is a continuity anyways with 2 more films to go. And FOC stuff all gets repurposed as ancient cybertronian on my shelf. So time doesnt.

I bought 3 boosticus sets and im happy with them all. (takara,G2, and all black for ruination) The price is fair and it does everything this does without the parts forming. The only purpose I see for a new torso is if you are really into dynamic poses which I dont do with my combiners. This project is taking too long. While everybody has been waiting for this, 3 other highly anticipated combiners have been released and another 5 are either in production or at least been teased.

I don't think Boosticus does everything this does, as it fails to make Onslaught not suck.

But if you are happy with the boosticus sets, and they do what you need, more power to you!

I'll wait for this guy. It will be a while till I finish my combiner collection, so I'm not in any hurry.

Sure onslaught sucks. All 5 foc combaticons do. My message to microblaze would be to do the other 4 so their onslaught doesnt make them look like crap. Why repeat the Fansproject bruticus set all over again when theh could top it by a landslide ?

I admit this add on set adds better articulation than the boosticus set does. But for me personally, I dont care about karate kicks and crouching positions. As long as the knees and elbows bend, waist turns, and the arms lift im happy.

and as ive said all along, i dont like the idea of taking apart the other figures to incorporate MB. but, i still might have done it IF they released MB in all the flavors we have bruricus in, but they havent and theres no indication that theyll do it at this point.

Yep. You have to pop off the ball joints on both blast off and vortex and reconfigure them with additional parts to form the arms/elbows. While it adds great articulation, it kind of kills the whole combiner aspect by taking parts forming to an extreme. Ball joints do get loose with time if you keep popping them in and out. So you've got a giant action master.

You're not popping off any ball joints, just the waste swivel (I think), which is rather easy to do. And it's just for Blastoff and Vortex (AKA dem arms).

To the extent that Combiners are by definition giant partsformers, using that as an excuse to dislike the set is pretty weak, in my opinion. Plus, it's one joint whose separation shouldn't leave stress marks or damage the figure. But it's all been said before, so I'm not sure what value there is in me arguing the point.
