Yep, Microblaze is definitely the way to go here. Replaces that awful, awful deluxe Onslaught (who I wonder if you could get a decent Snaptrap custom out of...), gives the limbs a boost, and makes the combined mode sooooo much better...and with no rainbow trailer!

X, stop this. You post this same "PEAUGH IS A CORRUPT SALESMAN" dreck in every single thread with a Peaugh review linking to it and it's getting old. We get it, you're an insane paranoiac who thinks that those evil toy reviwers are out to get us. Just. Stop.

I mean, seriously. That picture of the "correctly" transformed Boosticus set doesn't look much better. The torso is still far too small, and him wearing a plastic puffer jacket won't change that. The proportions are all wrong, looking simultaneously stumpy and skinny, and his head is way too small. Also, the Boosticus set only really improves upon the combined mode- the parts storage in the disassembled modes absolutely sucks.

Yes, the Microblaze set is much more expensive, but then it is also blatantly superior. It has a better looking combined mode, much better parts storage, replaces the dodgy Onslaught with a whole new figure, who is a huge improvement over the original, improves the individual figures, and is more poseable in combined mode to boot.

Boosticus' only upside compared to Microblaze is the price. It doesn't take a professional to see that.

I offer my opinion. You can roll with it or reject it your choice. Personally I don't care about parts storage. I grew up with G1 figures in the 80's where such a thing was non-existent. Here is my answer for "parts storage":

im sort of in the middle with these sponsored reviewers. but since his original bruticus video showed his "preferred" transformation, im willing to assume it was just an oversight.

I value them for showing me what the product looks like in hand, in terms of size, colour, how sturdy it is, transformation etc. but I don't use them as a basis as to whether I should buy the figure or not. That's why I come on boards like these, for the input of other collectors. Even then, you've just got to go with what you think.

To be honest, when you have Boosticus set up properly and look at it against Microblaze's it's really not that much of a bother. Not enough for me to splash out again on what is already not the greatest set of moulds to begin with (although I do weirdly like them).

It's a shame because I'm only interested in the Voyager Onslaught. Quite happy with the upgrade that the Boosticus kit provides, but it'd be nice to have the bulkier body and thighs that the 3P Onslaught provides. Maybe I'll be able to pick one up 2nd hand at some point.

I spent Friday evening with this set, trying to get to combined mode. I wish the included instructions were more clear on how to change the arms into upgrade mode. Blast Off was the most frustrating for me to figure out. And some of the pieces of Onslaught kept falling off, like the waist armor. It seems like a design issue as the two flaps aren't flush with the main part of the armor.

Another issue I have is that the "boot" for Swindle is very finicky. I'm using the SDCC/Premium version instead of the retail yellow. The connector pieces for the sides of the boot could have been better engineered to fit more snug. There's already stress marks on the pegs. I wish in combined mode that those pieces actually connected to Swindle instead of relying on friction. I also wish there were a bottom pad to help solidify the boot. This would have also helped even out Swindle with Brawl - as it is, Bruticus has a bit of a lean now.

Overall, I'm glad I have this set. Onslaught is a just a massive figure. He's both lumbering and intimidating. Having a full torso on Bruticus makes me extremely happy. Other than the Swindle boot issue, combined mode is really solid and fun. I think Microblaze have learned a few lessons making this set and can only hope their next release is even better.

The issues you state here were also reflected in the Vangelus/Peaugh reviews, and it kind of turned me off. I really wish the upgraded feet had similar articulation, and that the combined figure had an ab crunch. The set seems to really excel in the upper body and arms, and less in the lower body and legs.

I agree. Those were my only two area's I felt needed improvement. The Swindle boot construction and the waist plates.

Onslaught as a figure by him self is amazingly well done. The only time I see issues is in the combined mode. Overall I give the figure and kit an A-. Fix two simple things and it becomes a must buy for any fan in my opinion.

I wish the Swindle boot side parts were joined on ratcheting rivets similar to how they did the Brawl foot assembly.

Also the Brawl add-on's for him as a stand alone figure really help make him more viable as a pose-able deluxe.
