Hello,

With the New York Toy Fair just around the corner, I thought I'd stake a claim and predict what transformers Hasbro will unveil. This is based on the observation that 99% of the Generations like are updates, reboots or reimaginings of G1 figures.

Today we tackle the Autobots:
Legends
Combiner Wars and Titans Return saw various minicar from 1984 and mini-vehicles from 1985. Power of the Primes is no different releasing Beachcomber and a second Windcharger in its wave one.

Prediction: Gears, Swerve and Outback - TR Brawn looks like a predeco of Gears so expect him and his red and white brother in this line. Also expect Brawn's Aussie relation to make an appearance though under a different name. Autobot Outbreak just isn't going to fly.

Prediction: Huffer, Pipes and Warpath - All three made an early showing in Combiner Wars. There aren't many strong reason to see them revisited, but if Windcharger can get a do-over maybe these three will too.

Deluxes
Combiner Wars saw a lot of pre-movie Autobots rebuilt as limbs for combiners like Optimus Maximus and Sky Reign. Titans Return focused on post-movie vehicles. We already have Jazz in Wave 1 and the promise of female Autobots down the line. It will be a grab bag during the Power of the Primes.

Prediction: The Left-overs - There are some that probably won't make it. Not because Hasbro loves to frustrate completionists, but because of trademarks, use in other properties, etc. In the class of '84, we still are waiting for Bluestreak, Ratchet, and Sideswipe. From the class of '85, Grapple, Inferno, Red Alert, and Hoist are MIA. I expect Bluestreak to show up as a Jazz redeco, but Ratchet and Sideswipe will still be out. I also expect some of the 85'ers to appear as redecos of the female Autobots. Moonracer might model for Hoist. Firestar might be the model for Inferno and Grapple. If we get a Sideswipe, we will get a Red Alert (and possible and Overdrive)

Prediction: The Targetmasters - I think we will see Sureshot, Pinpoint and Crosshairs, but like their Decepticon counterparts they'll show up in the later waves.

Voyagers
Power of the Prime is Combiner Wars 2.0. The deluxe class form limbs and voyager class form the torsos. We already have Grimlock for Volcanicus and Elita One for an unnamed gestalt. Like Cyclonus and Optimus Prime, expect a third and forth Voyager redecoed from the current models. A female jet redeco of Starscream would be my beat for the Autobot one. And a Beast Wars Megatron to use Grimlocks model for the Decepticon.

Leaders
No predictions here. The roster of Leader class Autobots seems solid. Power of the Primes introduces an evolution component to the Leader class. this means you have a smaller basic bot who can combine with the trailer/armor into the fully-powered Prime form like Hot Rod/Rodiums and Orion Pax/Optimus. I expect a couple more, but no clue as to who they'll use or how.

Cities
Omega Supreme. The only city/base figures left are Scorponok and Omega Supreme. Like Sky Lynx and Trypticon, it will not be motorized but may have a track. It might share attributes wit the micromaster base, Countdown.

Rather than start another thread just for the Decepticons I'll add my thoughts. Lets ride this crazy train to the end of the line.

Prime Masters
As others have pointed out. The Prime Master are confirmed and mirror the Pretenders from the end of G1.

Legends
Shrapnel released in wave 1 is the last of the OG Insecticons. I think there are one or two of the Deluxe Insecticons still out there. So...

Prediction: The remaining Deluxe Insecticons reboot. I'd love to see the Beast Wars arachnids make an appearance too, but that seems too far out there.

Wishlist: I'd like to see the coneheads in Legends class. Titans Return and PotP Legends have really upped the bulk and heft of the figures. I wouldn't mind Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet in this size. And since we are shooting for the moon, how about a Decepticon doppelganger for Beachcomber? In the same vein as Viper/Powerglide maybe a Cobra deco of an Awl Striker.

Deluxe
This ones going to be thin too. With Terrocons coming soon and Predacons coming later, its a solid roster.

Prediction: Two more limb jets to accompany Blackwind and Darkwing to give us a Decepticon jet combiner. With Starscream at the head, I'm calling him Inferion for now.

Wishlist: I'd like to see Decepticon dinobots. Terrorsaur, Slugfest and others could be dark reflections of the Dinobots.

Voyager
Its shaping up that the Voyagers are the body of PotP combiners. And like the Deluxe that line up is pretty solid. Grimlock, Starscream, Hun-grr and Elita-1.

Prediction: It's a safe bet we will get a Thundercracker and a Skywarp version later on in the roll out. We got a matching set of CW Legend and CW Leader class. It doesn't seem like they'll stop now.

Wishlist: Beast Wars Megatron in a retool of Grimlock.

Leaders
So far we have lots of Autobots and one SG Autobot. We really need Decepticons to even the sides.

Prediction: An original transformer introduced as their new leader.

City/Base
Prediction: Scorponok. Hopefully a best of both worlds between his G1 construction and his Unicron trilogy transformation.


As before, share your thoughts. Call me crazy or call me genius. (I like the genius ones best) But if you have any ideas lets hear them.

Just a head's up that we already know up to Wave 3, and Wave 4 of the Deluxes thanks to leaks before the line even started. So we'll see at least those at Toy Fair, and hopefully Wave 4 of the rest of the Size Classes:

Prime Master Class

Wave 3:
Megatronus with Bomb-Burst (possibly a retool of Liege Maximo with Skullgrin)
Quintus Prime with Decepticon Bludgeon
Solus Prime with Octopunch

Legends
Wave 3:
Cindersaur (retool of Dinobot Slash)
Autobot Outback (retool of TR Brawn, name confirmed)

Deluxe
Wave 4:
Autobot Novastar (aka Firestar, possibly a retool of Moonracer)

Nothing else, the rest is all repacks. The Wave 3 Terrorcons Blot, Cutthroat and Sinnertwin have already been shown in full, aside from the combined form Abominus which we may see finally.

Voyager
Wave 3:
Inferno (previously unused pretool of CW Protectobot Hot Spot, with Hun-Gurrr's Enigma and Foot Armor

Leader
Wave 3:
Optimus Primal/Optimal Optimus

Titan Class
Predaking

Personally I'm hoping on them revealing the Monster Pretenders, based on Cutthroat using Wildfly's head on the initial showing, especially how they're gonna do Slog and Birdbrain. The Seacons, not so much unless the 6th member is released early in Legends Class.

Good predictions all around. I can't wait for the Toy Fair reveal. I'd put a coke on the line that Megatronus has a Bludgeon shell.

Another one I hope to see is Waverider, the retool of Cloudburst revealed via Legends Grand Maximus. Then there's a Jazz redeco seen on combined Elita-1's art.

I know I'm being "that guy," but is there a reason this had to be its own thread instead of part of the Power of the Primes thread proper? There's plenty of speculation and wishlisting going on there. This wouldn't be "off topic" or anything.

Since Toy Fair isn't really about showing stuff off to fans like the other events through the year I really doubt we'll see anything we don't already know about.

What I think we'll see is:

Prime Masters - Nothing new, I think they'll save wave 3 for later.
Legends - Battleslash, Roadtrap, and Swerve (not officially revealed despite some figures being leaked early)
Deluxe - Maybe Novastar
Voyager - Maybe Inferno
Leader - Painted Optimus Primal

And probably Titan Predaking and a full reveal for Abominus.

Yeah, it isn't much. I think they'll be focusing more on the Movie Studio Series and Cyberverse for their big Toy Fair pitch since PotP is already established in stores.

I think you meant Tailgate, not Swerve, right? Unless you know something I don't.

We already know what they will show at Toyfair, we have known since last year.

What we dont know is what will be released in 2019 (or end 2018) so if anyone wants to make predictions, it would be about that.

To be fair, we've known what will be released this year, but not specifically what will be shown at Toy Fair which may give us a few first official looks. For example we know what Elita-1 looks like, but we haven't gotten a really good in-hand look at her yet. Or Inferno for that matter which I still suspect will look a little different from the early leaks.

But hey, if you want speculation for 2019 here are some wild ones.

Prime Master suits - Waverider (we know it exists), Long Tooth, and probably some G1 Wave 2 shells
Legends - Flywheels pair, Flamefeather, Sparkstalker (to go with Cindersaur), Goldbug (easy TR Bumblebee retool)
Deluxe - If we're lucky more fembots, Sideswipe, and the Road Caesar trio (Braver based on Jazz, Laster sharing with Sideswipe, Blacker would probably have to be unique to work with the other two)
Voyager - Nothing really comes to mind immediately.
Leader - I really hope the current design team finally breaks their Nemesis Prime drought, but I doubt there's room for two evil Autobots in this line. I doubt they'll do Primal Prime either. Maybe they'll surprise us with Armada Prime?
Titan - Scorponok, but for late in the year when the new series starts post-Prime Wars.
