Voyager TLK Optimus Prime is one of the best movie OP toys, except for HFTD ROTF Optimus Prime we rarely get a movie voyager Optimus toy that match his screen appareance.

Sadly, despite having an amazing sculpt. Voyager TLK OP have a very few paint application that make him looks dull and plain, so when I got him I decided to repaint him as close as possible with his screen appareance (mostly I use his appearance in AOE as reference, especially since his arms & gauntlets is actually the pre-"armor knight" as he appear in AOE before taking the Temenos Sword)

Painting him is never be an easy job, I especially having a hard time when drawing & painting those flames in his robot mode (why can't you at least put flame decos on his chest, Hasbro ?! :BANG_HEAD:

), the vehicle/truck mode is more easier to paint though I had to draw & paint faux lamp on his truck front (because Hasbro doesn't even bother to paint/sculpt that parts), Well at least at the end the final result make me feel worth doing all the hard work.

Here's all of the pictures of him, I might add another one if I do some changes on him in the future.
(Pardon if some of the pics is crappy, I had to use my phone camera to take pics because my camera broke)

Gorgeous. I wish I had that level of painting skill. I've done some repainting of mine but it don't look as good as yours and I haven't even attempted painting the flames (hoping Toyhax will release stickers for those).

I'm gonna study your pics some more when I continue my painting.

My God that's beautiful. The paint can make all the difference, such a shame that the figures are becoming less and less painted.

I wonder if Hasbro/Takara employees ever browse these sites and see these awesome customs. Maybe the sculpters are pleased when they see all their awesome detail work shown off properly and resent the companies cheap-ass lack of paint apps. This is the kind of Prime we deserve after all the money we've spent on your products over the years, HasTak!

I said before that if I made some change to him, I will post it again in here.
The biggest change that I made is adding silver linings in the flames decal on both truck mode and robot mode.
Also I realized that the flame decal on the front of the truck mode is inaccurate compared to the real life truck, so I use thinner to erase the flame and redraw it to closely match his onscreen appareance.
For robot mode (except for the silver lining) the change is minor, mostly just correcting some color in certain parts.

OMG! Those paintings are insane awesome, I would prefer slightly thinner sliver lining.
However, the overall is excellent.

Very brilliant job! Makes the designer's hard work come through. I envy your skill with the painted flames

Most Transformers (sometimes even the fancier releases Takara occasionally does like with Legends) tend to suffer from the tightwad paint budget meaning sculpted detail gets neglected, but it hits the Bayformers the worst because of how busy and complicated their detailing is.
