It's getting harder and harder not to ship my PoL. I'm trying to wait on Six Sigma to hit before I ship but this guy is looking really good.

Got my Leo Dux in last night and if I could sum in up in one word it would be :Formality.
It feels like MMC made this guy because they had to, not because the wanted to. Just a totally different feel and flavour than Bovis (and by extension Fortis.) It's hard to explain... Leo just isn't as fun I guess

Also, why are his back guns glossy when the rest of him is flat black?

How's the robot mode? I've never been a fan of the lion mode anyway but would your feelings be the same if you were just talking about the robot mode?

Robot mode is the best mode in my opinion, and lion mode is the weakest. A full criticism of Torso mode will be save until I have Talon and Tigris in hand. My biggest complaint is the hip area. Don't get me wrong, the hip ratchets are hella tight. Top notch stuff. And Feral Rex's skirt plating does a swell job of staying out of the way.

From the front it looks... alright.

But adjust your view slightly aaaaannnd...


And just the way it attaches, its like a metal diaper.


I will freely admit I may be doing it horrendously wrong.

Also, the mane is a pain to flip out.

I'm glad to hear his robot mode is top notch though.

All of this, honestly, is true. The way the combiner codpiece partly reveals Leo's codpiece makes it look like he's sagging his pants or something. The placement is fine, but there needs to be something to fill in his abdomen. That's my biggest problem. And yes, the fold-out mane parts are a royal pain in the ass. A more minor quibble I have is the way the lion head attaches in beast mode. A piece on the neck attaches to the back of Leo's robot head, but it seems too far forward compared to where I feel like it ought to go, and also places the neck too high, and angles the lion head downwards. You can detach it from the lower hinge assembly if you want for more poseability, and that definitely helps, but it's a cheat.

Lastly, this may just be a problem on mine, but one of the cannons doesn't hold when fully extended, it slides back in partly. And one side of the same turret has a very loose hold on the tail parts when they're stored there, but I solved that problem by reversing the two turrets, since only one side is loose.

I am actually really impressed with the robot mode. Lion mode is OK. As far as the metal diaper sides, you may already be doing this but w the legs in the proper extention (bout half way) and the black side flaps down you don't have a gap on the side. I need to wait to see arms on him but my intitial feeling is he is pretty cool but his legs are really, really fat. Maybe w bulky arms it won't look so awkward....

The arms definitely help the look but regardless, Feral Rex suffers from major cankles.

So, as I do from time to time when BBTS releases some new preorder news, I was cruising my favorite online shops. I feel that since Leo Dux's release, aside from Talon and B&A Six Sigma, there isn't really anything that is exciting me for upcoming 3P offerings.

At any rate, I went to Planet Steel Express to check on the availability of any of the exclusive pre-orders, and came across this:

I'm sure he will be. The first version looked really good, so I can only imagine the redesign is a fabulous-looking labor of love at this point.

I assume at this point that Talon will be more or less the same as the review sample Peaugh got, with the usual changes between test shot and final like tweaked joints and whatnot.

Not sure about peaugh but I think Vange1us reviewed it during BotCon last year.

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of. I don't see a review from Peaugh. Did he get one recently that he is set to review? (I'm not tight with him, though I think I should be so I can get a hold of these toys early. )

Peaughs has had that test shot since November I believe... I wonder what kind of changes they are making that will cause it to be release in August? I forgot the release date. But there's got to be changes they're still making?

I might be wrong, but it looks like they're only finalizing one figure at a time. They tried to multitask with Fortis and Leo and it didn't work, so they're working on them individually. Once one figure is prepped for release, the next one can begin final scrutiny, rinse wash repeat. I think that's what's causing our 3 month delay between releases, so with that in mind, if Peaugh got that sample of Talon in November, then in the intervening time MMC was working on Fortis and Leo. They may just now be turning their attention to finalizing Talon for his June release, so not as much will potentially have changed between his version and the final version as you might think. I base this solely on conjecture and the focus of their reveals in the downtime between each release, so it's entirely possible I'm completely off the mark, I just really don't think that a whole lot will be different about Talon compared to what we've seen recently. Rather, I think the major overhaul that we know he went through happened last year before and in the early days of the releases, like Q2-Q3 last year.
