MMC's Hexatron
Re: MMC's Hexatron

Sorry to pull this thread out of the depths, but does anyone have a pic of Hexatron with out his mouth guard on? Only found out its removable, and can't seem to get mine off to have a look. Don't want to pull on it too hard incase I snap off a tab or something. Tried an image search and found nothing.

Are you looking for just the mouth guard? I've only seen the entire helmet off. Maybe I'm missing something too.

[Edit] The instructions call this out on the last page (middle of the book where instructions meet comic.) I had tried before, but it wasn't coming off, and I didn't want to force it. I just applied steady pressure and it did eventually come off without breaking. Looking at the helmet, there doesn't appear to be a way to remove just the face-plate. The helmet is a single molded piece.

Well, that's just silly. It also makes the head look far too tiny.

Yeah. Why did they do that?! He looks badass with the helmet and dorky without it.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Sort of reminds me of Thumb Wars, "I am your mother!"

It's also silly to criticize the figure because of this. (This goes back to that KO Hexatron thread.) This may be silly, but then, just keep the helmet on. No harm, no foul.

Not critizising the figure for that, I just think it's silly, since it's totally pointless. Why would anyone want to use that feature?
No, the only real criticism I have of this is doesn't really fit in with any kind of collection. Too large for classics, and not accurate or big enough for Masterpiece.
It's still damn awesome.

I think he's just fine for my Classics. he's a big bot.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Same, here. He's a big, badass 'Con and fits in fine. Then again 'scale' for me is a somewhat... fluid concept.

That's great thanks. I didn't realise the whole helmet came off, as I only found out about it in that 'other' thread lol.

Yeah that's what i was referring to. I should have said face guard instead of removable plate. That pink think on top of the head looks like the brain is exposed like Transmetal 1 Rattraps brain.
It's possible MMC was trying to show a younger Sixshot before he became a Ninja.

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this problem, but over time my first gen Hexatron's feet are starting to lose their friction and becoming harder to keep still when standing in a variety of poses.
I did find a good way to fix this issue by using the landing gear. If you rotate the landing gear out as if putting it down in jet mode, but keep rotating it all the way so that the curved end of the skids are resting on top of the back "toe" of the foot, it keeps that back portion nice and solid to avoid it falling backwards. Doesn't seem to be any harm done to any parts when doing this, and dramatically improved my continued enjoyment of this figure.
