New information has come in from the 2007 New York Comic Con that involves the Transformers Movie Prequel Novel: Ghosts of yesterday.

A mammoth robotic being, clearly of alien origin, has been found beneath the Arctic ice. Its advanced engineering dwarfs known human technology, and unlocking its secrets will catapult American science eons into the future. Based on the premise of this novel, I suspect there will be very little in the way of TF action contained within; hitherto, you should all AVOID!

Hmm...

so the Autobots are driven by one goal "total annihilation of the enemy" huh?

Uhh... no...

That would make the movie null and void - I mean, if true, it would mean the Autobots won't give a squat about the humans and will do everything to just stop the Decepticons...

Unless maybe that's what all of them want to do until they realize the humans are sentient? hmm...

Still - it makes the Autobots sound equally power mad as the Cons, and doesn't do much to set up the notion of Autobots starting to care about humans

I'll read it. It sounds interesting and Foster has always been pretty good.

The movie is going to be awesome anyways, so the prequel will just add to the awesome.

A book summery is just that - a small summery of the book. Naturally it's not going to state every minor (or even major) plotline on the back cover.

"Prime Directive" is the offical prequel comic of the Transfromers movie coming up this July 4th. "Ghosts of Yesterday" is also listed as the offical prequel. Thus, more than likely they're relaying the same story in two seperate formats.
