I am NOT he!"
What other molds have been that versatile? I'd lean on the the Cybertron Red Alert mold but Crankcase wasn't very memorable, and Kup required a remold, leaving only Cannonball (who is awesome).
Who else do you have?

Crankcase was very much remembered by me. I <3 him.
Can't really beat Mirage, but I didn't expect Dion from Hotshot.

I liked what they did with the Downshift mold-turning it into Big Daddy. That was really good, but I don't know if there's anything left for that mold after that.
I wasn't expecting Thrust from the Breakaway mold. That turned out better than Breakaway, IMO.
Armorhide is a really good use of the Landmine mold that I really never expected.

I dunno, I could see it repainted as the General Lee...

Or Big Daddy's gang molded partner - Greaser.
The Silverbolt, Darkwind, and Skyfall set are exactly the kind of amazingly creative uses that I'm talking about!

And let's not forget the ultra rare Mass Production Model repaint, but that was featured in the cartoons so I don't know how unconventional it was.

Using Cybertron Sideways to make Ratbat and Scourge (and his Sweeps), now that's unconventional.

Very True. I loved the Blades repaint.

On the subject of Mirage, I only wish the Robotmasters mold got the same treatment. Would love to see it repainted as Dragstrip, Fracture and the always forgotten G2 Double Clutch.
The Clocker mold had a few nice repaints. The original colours were naff but Cybertron swerve really had a G2 comic Hot Rod vibe to it. Keep meaning to pick up the blue Movie version. It's reuse as Pre-Beast Tigatron and Cheetor was nice. It was the basis for the Maximal security forces in the Stolen Disc vid.
I did buy a custom repaint as Hot Rod a while back that really worked and I once saw it customised as War Within Sunstreaker that looked nice.
Does the Defence Hot Shot mold count? We've gotten 2 Wreckers out of it and Roadbuster was certainly unexpected. Would love to see it repainted as Ruckus.
Another possibly unconventional suggestion I'd like to make is that I always felt Energon Slugslinger and Sharkticon would make a cool Movie Cyclonus and Scourge.
