MOTU

Got fangor ordered. Weird thing is the chucky/Tiffany minster high dolls that sold out are being sold cheaper than what Mattel was asking for them so I'm kinda tempted.
Next motu creations is supposedly the snake lady, hopefully they have some retail wave stuff instock to order with her.
Behold the mother of dragons...

It's really strange that they made two different modern interpretations of the dragon squirter, but they did that a few times between Origins and WWE, like the way they did the Battle Armor.
And I was able to order two Fang-Ors myself. They even sent out a reminder (after I ordered them), was that so hard, MC? Wish they'd restock Duplico so he still isn't really showing up at Walmart in any real numbers. I don't know what Walmart has against doing solid cases of their own exclusives and instead deciding to pack him a case with other non-exclusive figures.
Never showed up online and there's been no sign of Mossman either.

Oh, right, forgot to mention that the MOTUO Talon Fighter showed up on Amazon for $40 (still available for September) so I canceled my EE order and got that instead. Already shipped and should be here Friday.

Found Mossman at Walmart this morning. I knew it would be $40 but that was still a little painful to drop on a 5" figure. Sure does look good though, and they handled the flocking better than MOTUC did. So that's one exclusive I don't have to worry about, and he was well stocked since he's in solid cases and expensive, unlike Duplico.

Does moss man smell tho? They so screwed up with stinkor. If not I'm gonna have to get one of those car airfresheners to dangle off him.

He does. I haven't opened mine yet, but I hear it's rather faint.

So this randomly popped up on social media...
- Motto: "Guilty or Innocent?
Always Guilty..." - Weapon: Particle Beam Cannon
By Dave Rapoza
On the one hand, I thought "Wow! This is how I envisioned Trap Jaw as a kid." and yet also it got me wondering again, how striking MOTU could look if they played it straight? Lean into a darker, more Conan-like aesthetic. Less Filmation, more Alcala.

Needs eyebrows.
BBTS has charged me for the Skeleton two pack, the Snake Invasion four pack, and randomly Origins Spikor.

New motu crowdfunding project to be revealed.
I'm down to wild gueses on this as pretty much everything is being coverd by Mattel. i dont think starship Eternia will be popular enough but it's the only Big thing left -well besides skeletors asteroid hang out or mutant mothership. An actual base for Hordak might be nice. Cant see fright zone or the slime pit needing a fund raiser.

Speculation on the link gives the Crystal Castle and Fright Zone. Although even the poster stresses they shouldn't need crowdfunding to be made (I assume significantly smaller/less rare than Eternia upon release?).
As much as it would catch my eye, I don't think Starship Eternia, Nordor or the Mutant Mothership are even in the running.

It would be strange if it was anything to do with New Adventures since we've really only gotten those figures for Masterverse.
Do we know for sure it's an Origins crowdfund and not a Revelations/Revolutions Castle Grayskull?
I guess there's also always the royal palace.

Same for NA goes for crystal castle, they've only given She-ra attention in masterverse rather than origins. I think they will save that for the tentative live action series. I'm hoping for netflix Shera figures in the cartoon line up of figures down the line. The only thing that gives starship eternia more of a chance is with it appearing in the origins mini comics.
If it's revelations it will save me money which is a good thing.
Doubting a 200x snake mountain toy or netflix series version if it ever popped up in that (only found random episodes to watch so far).
Could be a collab, with or without one of Mattels other own brands. Or it might just be more shoes but I'd take more 12 days of socks or shoe liners over revelations stuff so I'm not hard to please :p that or the unreleased mega construx advent calender.
I still think a baby snatching hordak set would kinda work, a bit like necas tmnt dimensional portal. Or just the royal Throne with king, and the other royalty that hasn't had origins figures yet (Adora, queen, baby adam/Adora, throw in cringer too).
The original climbing tools sets etc seem to be going for small fortunes and updates would be nice and great to ho with eternia and other playset.

Oof, Scott Neitlich is back to going off on MOTU again. In a previous video he went on a tirade about how Mattel is detached from fans by not going to their own MOTU convention this year even though A) PowerCon isn't a MOTU convention anymore and B) Mattel stopped going last year.
Now he's doubling down on it saying Mattel refuses to talk to fans about MOTU and are leaving us in the dark intentionally as he continues this story about how Mattel no longer owns MOTU and they don't want to interact with fans so they don't have to talk about it despite having a big panel at SDCC recently outlining their plans for the next year and a Q&A yesterday. He also added this bit of information about how Mattel sent him and some others to Universal to buy the rights back but were refused which is a story I've never once heard him talk about before, he's always used some sort of letter or document as his proof of sale.
He needs to stop making videos, he's intentionally misleading people now.

After watching a recent Pixel Dan review:
I'll add a little speculation myself.
On the front of the Snake Invasion boxart, is part of the Eternia playset. On the back is an image of King Hiss' transformed Snake Mountain (homage to the 200X show twist). Considering this boxset is Origins. What if the new project is a base for the Snake-Men?

That wouldn't surprise me with the big for Snakemen stuff this year, but at the same time next year is all about the cartoon and realistically crowdfund wont ship until 2025.
I'm really disappointed that the Snake Armor He-Man from the set doesn't come with a vac metal sword like in the stock photos.

I'm disappointed he doesn't look like this:

I really don't understand the audience for Origins, at all.

Target audience for origins stuff (other then me
) was for those who liked to go into a toy store and get a figure for £15 or a full wave for £60 with vehicles and playsets not in the hundreds (ignores Eternia)...
Instead of ordering a Matty exclusive for £££ then customs ££ and then disapointment when matty has no replacements for the figure you just got with two left heads.
I can see the new not origins line being more my thing but not so sure I'll be buying same old character over again. Just picking what's the best of the bunch. Masterverse should get the 200x stuff at some point but I think I'd rather them do the NA and she-ra characters with me having most of the original 200x figures anyways.

I'm not so much doing a price comparison between Classics and a regular line. But questioning the rise of these "Demake" figures. Like Origins and the Super7 Reactions ranges. I look at Neca's output or Classics and question who wants something that is clearly inferior. I remember my original Toy Biz X-Men and Batman TAS figures, and their extremely limited articulation. It wasn't great. But that was thirty years ago now.
If they do the missing NA Space Mutants in Masterverse. I might be tempted to buy them **Prays for Disk of Doom Skeletor (with removable helmet and actual hair)**. Also Sagitar, because I am always a fan of the weird!

I'd take the old Batman animated series figures over a break when looked at or inaccurate costume/paint (main example batman year 2 todd cant even get the characters he drew right) over some of the newer stuff any day of the week. Or even over the super powers line with figures haiving plastic ties through their capes to hold them in their packaging o.O
-side note some reviews of masterverse cattra dont have holes in her cape but not being able to find one in store to choose from and see where the ties are at makes it moot.
Figures toys should be improvements and not demakes but for the most part Motu origins are actually improvements over the originals (not stinkor..not mekanek..not cobra khan...) but I think there is room for toys and higher end looking toys for most things. I just like toys in general. Same with Transformers, if a toy isnt as good as the original at least there is the original, likely five 'modern' versions, a masterpiece or third party to pick from.

My last thought on the demakes thing..sure you can get cloth fabric, real scanned faces, real scanned tattoos, airbrushed, weathered, with every chrome title belt going, real leather, smelling of baby oil goodness or just maybe...
just... just maybe
you can go for something that will give you hours of entertainment and laughter every time you see it on your shelf on a retro style figure that's got the look of visiting a proctologist.
gotta love mattel

crowd fund vote up too
https://toynewsi.com/241-49460
Attack track (toon accurate) which can fit an attack trak...inception time
horde tank craler
Fright zone
Doom Tower
snakes layer
I'm more of a playset guy over vehicles guy myself so that will sway my vote. I do really like the Attack trak even if it gives off mystery machine vibes...
Fright zone already has an existing toy...
I'm using a funko dark ages batcave for hordak...
I'm out of room for playsets...
Tanks with faces reminds me of thomas the tank engine..
Hasbro might get off their asses (or neca might do it) and release and rescale the D&D fortress of fangs...
no spaceship, spaceship space shiiip...
so I'll be happy with whatever gets voted for

Snakes Lair! I guessed right!!!
I like the look of the Horde Crawler Tank. I'm not at all familiar with the Attack Trak or Doom Tower though?
