I'm not basing this on anything, to be honest. I don't like Blaster enough to get too worked up about this, and I know it's the first instance of this Blaster/Soundwave thing. I'm just saying that concievably this could be the start of every Soundwave becoming Blaster, like Prime and Magnus, or Nemesis Prime even.
I love repaints, I love homages. I don't care if they don't make new Blasters or Magnus figures really, if it's a good figure then they can repaint it a million times and I'll buy them. I just don't like this figure, so I'm indifferent to the entire issue.
Look, I hate Arcee. For the life of me I don't understand why people like her. But, I hope Arcee fans get an Arcee figure that they feel does the character justice. the same applies here for Blaster.
Agreed on almost all points
(including not being a huge fan of Blaster, and that I really really don't like Arcee).
However, I'm not totally indifferent.
I feel Blaster deserved a whole new mold. Why??
With how many characters will be repaints,
how many are naturally repaints (Sideswipe, Ratchet, Smokescreen, etc.),
and how many we'll still see later on (for years and years and years),
this was a prefect opportunity for a new mold.
Not because he was a really important character or popular.
But considering his original (and outdated) alt mode,
there was so much more potential.
When you think about ALL of the vehicle molds out there, and that they potentially can (and probably will) be reused,
this was a chance for Hasbro to take it up a notch and do something different.
And if it would've been done well, then keep the status quo and use the mold again later on for an even more obscure character.
Believe it or not, I truly truly feel for the people who have been waiting for a good, updated version of Blaster.
