Auto Bot wrote:I see the car now. With the spoiler.
Looks good. But not an aggressive design. More of all around family car.
It will be something if you can turn this into a speed monster look.

Metal shines, and since the character is supposed to be a robot and a car he will shine also.
People who dont understand this simple theory really annoy me. Its like they make it out to seem like having a shiny transformer is a sin against god or something.
I know what gloss is, I am not stupid.
I am saying that the paint job makes it look like he is melting.
You go around to every other kitbash thread and bash people's paint jobs and claim your a master painter, but the second someone says something negative about your work you get in a tizzy.
Learn to take criticism as much as you give it
Yeah cos everyone else can go around with an ego but as soon as i mes about with one im told to "take criticism".
Keep it to yourself next time.
And i dont claim to be anything, i know what i can do.

I seem to remember a time where I read you saying "I didn't get to be a master painter..."
Pretty much exact wording, but of course its from memory so a word might be wrong.
And I don't see anyone else with egos around here.

In that comment i was jokinghttp://www.answers.com/joking&r=67(yes i am aware i am being condescending) and there are tons of egos, havnt you ever seen the planet sized monolith that is Grim's ego for starters?
Anyway, i am good at re-painting, being someone who can re-spray REAL cars and use an airbrush for fine art and fair ground rides gives me more right than most to defend my work, or question someone/give critique over someone elses.
Besides your melting comment was rude to begin with, so what do you expect me to say? "thanks very much and thanks for all the wonderful and helpful comments on the work that i just spent over 3 weeks on putting all my care and attention into that you just blasted to hell with a stupid comment".
Theres a difference between "critique" and "constructive critique" and just plain being annoying and rude.

A more accurate "G1" Iron Hide would be repainting Ratchet red since G1 Ratchet and Iron Hide were the same mold/design.
I wasn't trying to be disrespectful.
I just don't like the red, and there's something about the paint that seems off to me.
yeah, -snicker- he looks like a mutant. check is face.Sonray wrote:Here he is!
I am VERY proud with how he has turned out.
I used red two-pack car paint for the alt mode parts, i airbrushed it on and then used some lacquer (clear coat) to give it that super-shiney metal look.
The bot parts are painted with flat red Tamiya paints, and the silver is from the same brand. All coated with a nice gloss finish.
I also added a ball joint to his neck so he has better head articulation, and i also added longer smoke stacks which are made out of cue tips and model filler beleive it or not.
Alt mode pics will come soon, but i just want to make sure the gloss is fully dry before i transform him.
He will be up on ebay as soon as i am fully confident in the dryness of the gloss.

Ya think?
I thought they used the name and his character from G1![]()
He said he didn't know if the name had been used anywhere else not if the character was used somewhere else.
Because obviously G1 ended with G1.
While I'm thinking about it, The elephant part of the Maximal combiner was named Ironhide too.Auto Bot wrote:A red Humvee ambulance?
I said it'd be more accurate to repaint Ratchet red and make him Ironhide since G1 Ironhide was a van, not a truck.
Humvee ambulances resemble vans more so then trucks

A red Humvee ambulance?
Oooh, now THERES an idea! He'd look great with Ratchets mold, but his head and hands would need some extensive re-molding, as well as removing the ambulance "lights" and rescue tools.

It would fit the character to make him an armored car.
That should be an easy transition from an ambulance.
If I had a movie Ratchet I'd try it out.
