Movie megs

now secondly,my wife hates transformers.she abhors them.you know how some people think nails on a chalkboard are grating.the transformation sound is her nails on a chalkboard.it took a lot of begging to get her to go to the movie.but something amazing happened.she saw the teaser in theaters and had no idea what it was for until the logo came up.that one little robot actually made her want to see it.she saw the pic of prime and recognized who it was and thought it was cool.......then she saw the decepticons and was like wtf.she thought the same thing about starscream that many here have stated
here(look is that a beast wars character?it looks like that wasp guy)these designs have actually made a little less enthused to see the movie.and trust me,my wife represents the mainstream they are trying to attract.

Sounds like Top Gun, but that will fit this situation

But personally, I'm happy with changing alt-modes from line to line, but let's face it, if you remove everything that makes him recognisable (and when it comes down to it, what's more personal than your face?), then you're just asking for dissent in the ranks.

I agree with that. I thought that's what they were going to be doing

The reason they didn't? Good luck having the Alternators climbing buildings, grapple and engage in mortal combat with each other, and to move like a human. Besides, I think they didn't like the whole 'car turns into a robot' angle, so they reversed it.

That's not going to stop me from going to see the movie, I'm still going to shell out $8 just to gripe about it later.
I wonder if they are planning to release a toy line based on the movie figures. Although by the looks of it, I can already give up any hopes of getting a new megatron that fits in with the rest of my transformers.

$8 bucks? Its like $9.25 here in Georgia. I've demoted seeing this movie to a matinee at the low price of 6.50...
BTW I hope this is a real pic of Prime

Theres a lot less pointy small parts on him and OH! Whats that? *points and stares* Could it be a truck part or two?!?
Hes still too fragile looking though if you ask me but much better looking than megatron

Although, the lack of truck parts on prime does make it a little more believable that they can adapt their transformations.
I mean on Transformers Cybertron, when Landmine was picking out his vehicle transformation at the construction site, did he really have a choice? He already had bulldozer scoop on his shoulders, what was he going to pick, the Dump Truck or Mixer?

I'm kinda curious.
I realize you aren't exactly next door to Kentucky. but Your closer than central Texas. I'm going to botcon and don't want to freeze in my light weight clothing you know.

Seriously though, the arms are the front of the cab (his shoulders are the wheel casing and his lower arms are the red part of the nose, you can even see part of the headlightsection), his chest is made from the main part of the cab (he still has the same windshield look but now has part of the doors covering them with the mirrors above the doors, oh and don't forget the smokestacks on his back!), and it looks like his legs are completely made of the sleepercab of the truck and the back, much like G1 Prime (with a LOT more folding).
Sure, it's complicated, but no more then the transformations of Alt. Smokescreen and Skids thrown together.

like my fellow georgian said the summer is just about 5 months so it should still be warm when you get to kentucky for the con.Lord_Loqi wrote:Hey what is the temperature on average over there anyway?

Of course there will be a transforming toyline. You don't do a movie called "Transformers" and not have toys that transform. Besides, there have already been prototypes shown and I don't think there's even a slight chance that they won't get released.
At least one of the prototypes seems to have a much simplified transformation and a more traditional Transformers look.
