Okay, I kid. In all honesty I'd like either Wheeljack or Grimlock. The two characters always turn out to be great. I wouldn't mind Ironhide, since there's yet to be a really accurate G1 figure of him, but I doubt it'll happen any time soon

WE have had a rash of Soundwave lately, one would think they would want to try another well before this one dries up.

well, are there any other rumors out there of what's next in the MP line up???
Shockwave06 wrote:Speaking of triple changers, I was checking out my G1 astrotrain last night and the thought occurred to me that a masterpiece version of him would be very awesome. There's so much they can do with an MP Astrotrain with limb articulation, detail, etc. And the thought of an MP Starscream (or larger) sized space shuttle and train makes me drool.
Plus Astrotrain has all the traits of an MP figure: realistic vehicle modes. I don't think it would be that hard to pull off.

No there haven't. And I am not sure where the original rumors stemmed from. It seems that most of the rumors have not been very tangeable.
Usually the more concrete rumors come from the Chinese TF sites. Skywarp-2, do your contacts know of anything?

Kimmer wrote:i personally don't believe any of these rumors cause they just don't make sense. a 2-pack is just absurd and would alienate even more consumers cause of the ridiculous price and enough with the repaints please. can't they add a little variety to this line? out of the six mp's we've gotten three primes(including mp-02 albino prime) and two seekers. that's just sad.

Actually, my buddy at hasbro said that the next Masterpiece is to be announced at the beginning of 08, the last part of the 1st quarter, and will be a Decepticon, with an Autobot announced later in the year.. that's all the information he has at the moment..as he works in the gaming department in Hasbro..and he hears things about the involvements between the designing and concept departments, and the takara Tomy reps..
you'd be surprised to know that alot of the Masterpiece designs have been worked on by both Takara Tomy planners and US Hasbro toy planners.. they share information via e-mail and the internet..it's really a cool process..

Not really sure there.. I'm not an expert, I just relay what my friend tells me.. I'll wager though that the split is decided by the amount of input placed on that particular toy, or that the toys profits are somehow decided apon and the designer just gets a regular paycheck as apposed to getting paid by the toy..

- Jetfire
- Rodimus Prime and / or Hod Rod
- Ultra Magnus (the real one, not just the naked OP repaint)
- Galvatron
And maybe even more...

Many of my friends think Japanese are better designers, because they came out the with Masterpiece first. And that, Americans are just copying the Japanese design.
How true is this?

well... I'm not gonna comment on that...cough....Japanese....cough...cough..
But that might opn a huge can O worms debate.. I think though that Hasbro has come along way from their days of just importing transformable toys to that of producing them.. so I don't want to sell Hasbro short..but in Japan Mecha and robots are on everyone's mind it seems..so much more then here.. where we value our human characters, Superman, Spiderman, Ironman, conan, Gi Joe..ect...ect..
