i think they look funky, and seeing as ill probably never use my soundwave as an mp3 player, i might pick these up just as an accessory

Remember that you have to buy a memory card to put into Soundwave, and a card reader for your computer to put the songs on, because he has no internal memory and no way of connecting to a computer.

So he will hold as many songs as you can fit on a 1 or 2 GB memory card, but most recommend sticking to a 1 GB one. Depending on the sound quality of your music it will probably fit 100-300 songs.

And make sure that you grab a mini SD card, not a normal SD card.

Back to the price issue.... I got mine for £40 incl shipping from hong kong. And it came very quickly.

Besides, the price is no longer my concern, since I'll be getting the Spark Blue one for my B-day.

I found it when I was searching for this one, and it caught my attention. I don't want my Soundwave to suffer like this one, what can I do to prevent it/fix it if it does happen?

You could try converting Pounds to Dollars, it's about double, but that's irrelevant since you're getting one for sure anyway.

As for the question about the problems with Soundwave, I'm not sure how to prevent it or fix it. You should make sure it's off before inserting or removing a memory card, for one thing. Perhaps you could find someone who can translate the instructions, in case it mentions anything about that particular issue.

I have a Japanese friend, I'll try and ask her.

I don't really care if mine works - I bought it to top up my Classics shelf. I can't be bothered to buy a miniSD for it.

As a Transformer it's a perfect upgrade of the original G1 toy especially if you add the reprolabels stickers to it.
Whilst not as tall as the original in robot mode it still fits in very well with the Classics/Henkei line and the MP3 player alt mode is enhanced by the fact that it actually works,even if it's somewhat basic.
I got mine for £35 shipped ($70) which was IMO a great deal and I'd recommend it without question.

to be honest, he's a poopy mp3 player. not that great, the buttons don't work every time you press him, he's got no display.
so is he worth it? i got mine for 60 dollars that was with shipping misb. i wouldn't pay a penny more for him till they do some upgrading on him. now, i don't use him as an mp3 player, and he does fit in perfectly with the classics line, so he was worth it for me, at the price i got, to sit, basically, on my shelf. he isn't that durable, so i can't see how one that is a primary mp3 player would last more than a few weeks. those are my recommendations
