I just made my first 3rd party purchase and wanted know what to expect!
Fansproject Aerial Appendage Upgrade. Anything QC related I need to worry about? Hows the overall quality? Will it blend? Does it look good on Energon Superion, and do you guys have pictures of it on Energon Superion possibly?

couldnt tell ya. i was in the market for that set a few years ago when the original makers were fansproject (i think?). i never ended up getting one because they were pricey and scarce.

the new ones popping up on web stores lately i think are technically knock offs. so it could be anyones guess...

if it is of the same quality in terms of plastic used as the fansproject release then it is a decent set. it looks a bit goofy when trying to store everything in the team's jet and bot modes but the combined form is pretty cool which is really what the set is for. there are fragile parts, mainly on the feet/radar dish in the form of static piston parts that i would be careful with though. The combined form holds together nicely even the teenie little visor doesn't fall off very easily.

well that's all i can say about it, enjoy!

btw if you do find that the plastic quality is not so hot keep in mind that this is an earlier 3rd party product design. im not saying it's bad but it isn't what your used to with has/tak products.these days,though, most of the more prolific 3rd party co.s produce products that feature plastic with a quality that is almost equal or equal to that of has/tak plastic, especially toyworld, perfect effect (seriously check out warden), and fansproject who originally created this set. possibly others as well. In other words if you do find that the plastic quality is not up to par don't let it sour you on third party products because i do believe you will be missing out!

I would love to tell you but I don't on this set. Check out some videos on this guy. I think Peaugh has some old vids on it.

I don't remember hearing about any widespread issues. I've owned this set for a few years and haven't had any real problems with it.

Honestly, I think it's good enough but I'm sure it would look better with the Snowman set since the greys were actually white. Hope this helps a bit, but let me know if there's something more specific you were looking for.

My first 3rd party TF toy purchase was the longer chromed smoke stacks for the 20th Hasbro Optimus toy.

Sorry I can't answer your question. As,I didn't bother buying any of the 3rd party add ons for HasTak Superion. Because it didn't come with newer sculpted team members like The FP Bruticus add ons sets did.

I figured the ones popping up had a chance of not being legit, but its 3rd party, so I dunno...

I'll mainly be posing him and whatnot, maybe add him to my photocomic at some point. Overall though, he'll be more a display piece than anything.

And thanks for the pictures! They look good, btw. My camera work's aweful sometimes...

But I do have a question. What do the radar dish halves do in the individual robot modes? Do they just hang there on Sky Shadow's/Terradive's wings or what?

As I recall they plug into the spot on top of the plane where the Energon crystal normally goes.

No I mean in robot mode, it cant plug in there, it'd cover the whole front of the robot.

Ah, sorry about that. I'm not sure, honestly, but I suspect they probably just sit off to the side or plug into the wings as you said.
