Need help with 3rd party unique toys Alberich figure

Postby Jinnai » Sat May 02, 2015 3:56 am

Hi all,

I'm currently getting a few 3rd party figures to make my Decepticon Headmasters army. I got the 3rd party Alberich figure from a Chinese seller on ebay as everywhere else I used had sold out.

I have an issue with the figures left arm. The screw isn't tight enough and the arm wobbles and hangs. It's not a major issue but will affect the figure in his alt shark mode when the arms becomes the leg. I Contacted the seller whi wants to see images of the break. It's not broken, just very loose and the screwcan not be tightened anymore. Does anyone have oideas how to fix this issue or any way of contacting unique toys for their advice as I had heard they do help customers out with defects.

I think more members can answer your question in the 3rd party thread.

Btw, you tried Tamiya modeling putty?

I dont own Alberich but I had this issue with another 3rd party figure (IT Nightbird arcee mold) It turned out the frame for the screwhole inside the arm had cracked preventing the screw from catching tight. I simply filled the screw hole with crazy glue. Then when it dried I screwed the screw back in creating a new screw hole with threads that hold nice and tight. Worked like a charm.

On a side note BBTS has the figure in stock. You should have bought it from them as their customer service is top notch. They exchange or give store credit for any factory flaws. I done it at least 10 times with no hassles. I only deal with those Chinese ebay dealers when I buy KOs or if they have super great deals on figures smuggled out the factory early. Chimungmung is also a great dealer that is China based. He takes care of his customers.

Awesome - thank you so much Dude. I haven't tried BBTS yet as we in the UK get stung with Customer Charges but to avoid this happening I think I'm going to start.

I usually get my bots from Kapow Toy here in the UK, Sadly I missed Ablerich when they had him and went straight to ebay to find him. Will try this later and let you know how I get on dude :)

I'm loving the 3rd party bots so far, Can not wait to build Ordin when they are all out.

I'd avoid cyanoacrylate based products/aka super glue as it can either make the housing more brittle or worst. Not ptting down the figure but 3rd party items depending on the manufacturers, you've got varying degrees of pvc/abs plastic which don't react to friendly with super glue.

Im sorry to hear your experiences with crazy glue havent been as positive as mine. Dont get me wrong, I only use it as a last resort. I bought that nightbird figure secondhand, so exchanging it was not an option. Ive never had any issues with crazy glue. I once cracked the antenna off of a custom resin head when it dropped and hit the tile while painting it. I stripped down the paint, crazy glue and painted it with no issues. Ive also heard crazy glue is the way to go for fixing loose ball joints since clear nail polish eventually peels from rubbing. I have yet to try it but I know I will eventually.

Superglue can damage certain plastics, as I have learned to my cost. I'd recommend varnish or Pledge floor polish.

Last resort measures perhaps. Also mentioned the Japanese modelling putty. Does wonders (also a bit on the expensive side.
