When I heard they were doing live action, through gritted teeth I swore hell on them if they made it a campy spandex clad we love our country advert.

After seeing the trailer, concept art and images, I'm waiting eagerly.

But it better not suck, I don't have time to see **** movies.

It looks like a really good movie, but the presence of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow is the only thing that seems to say G.I. Joe to me rather than just "generic sci-fi action" film.

It's starting to look more like a G.I. Joe movie and less of a popcorn flick :grin:

Still It's gonna be weird without seeing CC till the end. I just really want this film to be a sucsess so it can pave way for the other 2 films.

It's a good trailer. I'm cautious, but cautiously optomistic. Could be a lot of fun.

indeed. How true it'll stay to the original GI Joe is immaterial to me, it looks like it'll be good fun even if it isnt.

Looks like the special effects might save this flick, but it is so badly miscast, with the exception of Dennis Quaid and Ray Park (for his abilities). Anyway, I think it would be cool and hilarious if they put Sgt. Slaughter (the wrestler) in to play himself, like in the animated movie. I know, he's about 65, but still. It would be fun.

That would be awesome. They could have a little GI Joe boot camp. And Sgt Slaughter is the drillmaster. Even though he is 65, he's still the big dog barking orders and kicking ass 'cause he's just that hardcore. :wink:

I was thinking more like a cameo, but whatever...This movie can't get much worse anyway.

When the Superbowl commercial came out for this movie I was jacked about it. Couldn't wait.

Until I saw the full trailer in the theaters. My enthusiasm is now in check. It looked like a cheesy, bad effects, sci-fi movie. Why are there "accelerator suits?" GI Joes didn't use accelerator suits.

I hope I am wrong. I will go see this in the theaters and I hope it is great. I am just not holding my breath anymore.

Exactly. That's what was so cool about the show. Cobra came up with all these elaborate plans with all the better weapons and GI Joe worked together as regular people and won.
