Just because they got the head right and he has piledrives does NOT make him Rumble.

Head, pile drivers and chest. That's more than enough. Besides, who still uses cassettes these days? Do the kids even know them?

The closest thing to a cassette my 6 year old knows is a Nintendo DS game cartridge. I showed him a VCR tape once and he asked me if there was a couple of little DVD's inside of it #-o

That's dumb.

What do you know if they are trash or not? You didn't buy them, so your opinion is just hyperbole in support of your decision/justification to go the less expensive route.

You may not like the look of the Perfect Effect figures, but calling them trash is straight up ignorant.

They're not trash because they look bad (which I do think they do) they're trash because they're $60 tiny pieces of plastic that were made to have people waste money on in order to profit from the success of somebody elsé's product. It's my opinion on 3rd Party Products as a whole. They're trash making money from a franchise they don't own. Not in the way of junk in a trashcan but because of how you refer to thieves as trash. In my opinion its stealing. Transformers is not their property and I don't think its right for them to be allowed to make figures in order to make money riding the surf of Transformer's earned success. I hope that makes sense, I don't think I'm wording it properly...

I know I'm a minority, but it irks me when people are passing by good official products like this figure because they've spent money on something that is not giving the profit to the company that actually owns the franchise. To me, its downright stealing.

I agree with you. That's exactly why I don't like the 3rd party stuff as well

.... really? you think they're trash coz they're stealing from hasbro?.... I almost don't know what to say about that... Let me get this straight. You're ready to, as a transformers fan, completely pass on killer transforming robots that actually do a much better job resembling comic and cartoon transformers for the sake of...saving hasbro the money. Hasbro; a huge million-dollar company who probably wouldn't even care if you never bought another hasbro product again. A company that is also OKAY with the 3rd party companies making them even more scratch from the increased value of their own products... a company that is having its TF line sustained even further by the 3rd party products and general interest being kept on transformers.

Not trying to be mean, but dude... that really doesn't make any sense whatsoever. You don't like PE, fine, as counterpunch said. But that reasoning is just so flawed. Your a consumer. Its up to you to decide what is worthy of your money, not the product creator.

I disagree with the thought here. Other than the iGear Mini-MP line, the Hasbro/Third Party relationship isn't love-hate. It isn't even one or the other. Even in the case of PE's not Rumble and not Frenzy. Id imagine PE made them to be our Neo-G1 Rumble and Frenzy that Hasbro had not made yet. But, since it was likely and Hasbro is putting out a Rumble/Frenzy mold, PE decided to make their figures have another purpose: to upgrade FP' City Commander which was made to upgrade an OFFICIAL Hasbro product. PE is pretty much doing this with their whole line.
My point is, the relationship is beneficial to both companies, and us, as fans. I think Hasbro realizes this and that is why they aren't crashing down on them.

Gee, everybody all sounds so right. Yes, I think PE's not Frenzy/Rumble is meant to upgrade an upgrade set from a Hasbro product. That's why I didn't buy them because I don't have a City Commander, nor do I have the classics UM (still hoping Hasbro will create a new rightful UM). If I ultimately want the right Frenzy/Rumble, I would actually try to hunt them down from the Encore #19 set. My kids know what tape is. They have seen the G1 cartoon and we still have a cassette player at home (not being used for a while though  ). When I showed the new design to them, my daughter asked me why Rumble is not a tape (because my Ravage from classics Hound is). I don't like the tank design but won't deny Hasbro's effort on adapting to the new generation. As far as profits go, I think they all gain profits. It's us who the poor collectors are have to spend those money. But we have choices where to spend them on whom.

Exactly. We all have a choice on who to buy from and where. No one on this board should be crucified for their different choices. I prefer Hasbro's rendition over PE's. There's no problem with that, right?

Nails and wood, stat!
jk, s'all good, I can definitely see the appeal of these, I do have a tricky time finding where to put my PE fre/ru since they don't fit into ML Soundwaves hands. And these can fit into the classics line well enough, I like tanks. I just don't like the bot mode, the legs kill it for me. Although, if I hadn't already bought the PE versions, AND didn't really have the cash for them, then I wouldn't mind settling for these.

What? they look absolutely NOTHING alike.

If it did look like a hiss tank i'd pick it up. As it is, Rumble looks more like the tanks for Bruticus Maximus or a Gi Joe Armadillo tank. That could be what your thinking of.

What's a cassette?

The alt modes remind me of the little Cobra tanks. What were they called, Hiss Tanks? Anyway, I think it's a fitting alt mode for these two little thugs.

Call him whichever you want, but that mold is sweet and a definate get. Rumble as a tank makes sense, and the actual piledrivers just seal the deal.

No, the hiss tank is exactly what I was thinking of. I was referring to the twin cannons on top, in that sense Frenzy dose remind me of a hiss tank. I did not say anything about them looking alike, absolutely or otherwise.

Am I the only one that thinks Rumble looks like he has the Transformers version of leprosy? Strange bumps, bulges and deformed legs and arms.

Um, icky.

Ah, leprosy... killer Death album.
Not so killer on robots... makes me think if the piledriver stops working, he can just take his arm off and fling it at the enemy.
