Fireblast wrote:If this is based upon Transformers Live Action Movie (and it is) I will officially hate Transformers for life. I think the fans who make fun of haters of the movie who go "they raped my childhood" are plain retarded. I hate the movie because people say "it's not G1" but you have G1 elements like Peter Cullen and in the prequel comic you have a broken golden disc so "booyah" there goes your theory about "it's entirely new". Say what you want to say to me because as of now, I quit being a part of a fandom since Hasbro, Michael Bay, Takara Tomy make what was an incredible toyline fail at life period.
Your so-called argument makes no sense. Just because the movie continuity has references to G1 doesn't mean it is G1. Just because it has references to other continuities doesn't make it part of those continuities, either. How can you honestly say that the "this isn't G1" "theory", as you called it (though I tend to call if "fact"), is incorrect when, o, lo and behold, this movie isn't G1?
And nobody said this movie was "entirely new". Anyone in their right mind would have known it wasn't entirely new when they noticed that the movie was tied in to an existing franchise.
Anyway, as for this new logo, it suggests to me something as annoying as TMNT: Fast Forward. I hope we have something of a higher calibre than that tgo look forward to.

I have that same feeling. I think we're gonna be in line for another crapfest.

Let's all hope so.

I dont think Hasbro gets it. For years they have underestimated and undervalued the fanbase.
If they would do something to I dont know grow the brand instead of incessantly trying to sell toys with each and every thing they do Transformers could be even bigger than what it is.
Why they havent capitalized on the straight to video movie market and recognize they have fans over 11 years old is beyond me.
The new show will likely be paint-by-the-numbers kiddie affair straight down to the preteen sidekicks.

Look on the bright side. Most of the toys from the last few series have been decent, and when Armada and Energon went to comics, they were leaps and bounds better than the shows.
As with the movie, as with all things. Wait and see.

I agree, I liked the comic versions of Armada and Energon a lot more than either of the toons. In fact, I loved the comics, but I couldn't stand the shows! It's a shame that the Energon comic (and, later, Cybertron comic) went down the toilet, along with Dreamwave.

Collectors aren't their target demographic. Unfortunatly for us, there just isn't enough "transformers collectors" out there to give it the push they give say, Startwars or Pokemon. While both are radically different, both have a much larger fan base then that of the always cool (with the exception of Fireblast

You forgot the phenomenal PS2 game based on Armada. That game took all the greatness of Armada and magnified it. Those cutscenes, the music, the variety. It was to TF games, what Beast Wars was to TF cartoons and Marvel UK was to TF comics.

The things that need to be or not to be (XD) in the new transformers :
1. No humans, or at least only few
2. Darker story
3. Lots of Autobots and Decepticons
4. Good fights, could put a few hectic ones
5. Lots of Death ( so what, it will make you watch the series hoping that it won't kill your favorite character)
6. Stan Bush's '' The Touch '' XD
And I would rather see it in normal cartoony look than CG.

Right, 'cause that's happening in a kid's cartoon.
As someone said earlier (although I can't be arsed to go back and find who it was) the logo definitely implies, style-wise, something along the lines of the JLA or Teen Titans etc. I think it'll be straight animation (as opposed to the cell-shaded stuff, which really looked out of place next to the anime humans), sharp, fast and edgy.
It could very well wind up a steaming pile, but I think it's vastly preferable to the anime tosh we've had for the last three series.
I like anime, but the problem is that western audiences have drastically different values to Japanese ones. The latest series (Energon and Cybertron were awful for it) just seemed like they'd been almost directly transferred from a Japanese cartoon, though, and it didn't translate at all.
The fact that this has the smack of a US-made cartoon is already a step in the right direction. I'm on the 'wait and see' bandwagon myself - I'm not gonna trash it till I know what I'm trashing.

i've got to agree with ramrider. this has alot of influence from western culture, so maybe we should wait and see what it becomes.

Why no humans? Humans are an important element to TF stories. It's just sometimes that element isn't executed very well. I say, have humans involved.

As I've seen or heard probably what everyone else has heard, and that revealed amount is still quite small, I think I will reserve judgement until I've actually seen it. They might change the font and style of the title still, just like they ended up changing the name itself. Though as they say "You can't judge a book by its cover" and it may be the same here.
What I hope happens:
1.Real cartoon animation, no CGI stuff
2.Some humans, but the humans SHOULD not be corny
3.The humans should not use gags and lingo of this time period, or this will feel dated in about 5 years
4.PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE do good characters and voices, no Transformers strain of Jar Jar Binks
5.And lastly, please know not all of the shows viewers will be 5 yr olds with 2.8 second attention spans, we want a story to root over and feel anticipation for
