We had a similar discussion back when Shadow Chronicles first came out on DVD, six months before they released the collectors edition, and the going consensus is that Harmony Gold no longer has the rights to Macross and thus can't use the likenesses of those characters. Makes sense since they've continued to produce new series using the Macross name over the last 10 years or so. It's also believed that they don't have the rights to Southern Cross either.

As always, I'm late to the party. If they didn't have the rights to southern cross, how come Louie Nichols was in Shadow Chronicles?
The dvd didn't reach my country but I was lucky enough to catch it on cable.
Black Arachnis wrote:Louie Nichols is from Tobotech: Masters saga Chuck...he`s from the Southern Cross section.aaaaanyways, I found out that none other then Bandai is making the VF-25`s in 1/60, 1/72 and 1/100 scales.
Black Arachnis wrote:THIS is the VF-25 from Macross F. I`m guessing you guys are running a little behind with watching this series as the first episode aired as a special at christmas?

Well, where I'm from, we won't get that on cable yet. I really like the fighter mode on that Valk.

I didn`t either. I downloaded it off the net.

Black Arachnis wrote:yeah Chuck, you do know that the VF-25 is from the NEW series called Macross Frontier right?getting Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Do You Remember Love? and Flashback 2012 on dvd won`t show you the VF-25.
Black Arachnis wrote:a Toynami Beta WILL work with an Aoshima Legioss seeing as Aosima borrowed Toynami`s mold...speaking of Mospeada/New Generation, I picked up a CMs Ridearmor and I gotta say..small it may be but I like it!about as big as a G.I.Joe figure.(the small ones, dunno the term for that) and it`sd very well articulated. just a shame it`s also topheavy.oh well, they provide a stand anyways.
Black Arachnis wrote:to be save on the Alpha/Beta linkup I`m opting for the Brave Gohkin Legioss and Thread set from Cms. same two fighters, diferent comapny and sculpt.and as for the Ridearmor. latest rumor is that it`s either the Megahouse version or the Beagle version Toynami will be selling as their own though they may yet surprie us and toss ther OWN sculpt out there. and on other news, the next wave of the 1/100 VF-1 valkyries is nearly upon us and it brings us FAST packs!

If the CMS set is as half as good as their GaoGaiGar work then it will be awesome. I have the Megahouse version pre-ordered but only the Scott version. I forget who else is making them but I'll go for it as well. I honestly thought that Toynami had given up on the 1/100 figures but thank goodness they're coming.

well, so far all the new Ridearmors we know about are the CMs version(about 3 3/4"), Megahouse, Beagle and possibly Toynami.and the next wave of 1/100`s features DYRL Hikaru VF-1S Strike, Roy VF-1S Strike and VF-1A CF with FAST packs in june and the loose FAST packs in april.and good to hear CMs is a good manufacturer cause I don`t want to contemplate the trouble to get a matching Scott Alpha Fighter for the Toynami Beta Fighter...
