I personally think this new Prime is not just a toy/Machinima exclusive character. This is a big thing. It's a new age of a new Prime.

It wouldn't cause a massive character change in the comics, if that's what you want.

If Star Saber wins, it won't change his personality in IDW. That's what I'm saying.

Probably wouldn't be the case cause people would either put star saber in the two good guy categories (Forgot what they exactly were). Plusthis will be a different writter writting him presumely, and characters having personality changes have happened before Also to add on top he hasn't appeared for such a long time. Also why would you want to miss star saber getting a generations figure possibly

Star Saber would certainly not be another Sentinel; they're cut from two very different - though still villainous - cloths.

A generations Star Saber figure would be pretty cool, though I'd prefer Deathsaurus. What I'm saying has nothing to do with whether Star Saber will win or not though.
No matter what category Star Saber is in the toyline and/or the vote, that won't mean a thing in the comics. After all, Sentinel Prime is presented in the TR promotional material as a heroic Autobot from bygone times that fights alongside Optimus and Hardhead... yet in the IDW TR arc he's the main bad guy. What happens in the toyline and the toyline's promotional material does not translate literally to what the IDW comics do and there are countless examples of this.
Why would it be a different writer? The Combiner Wars and Titans Return events of IDW were written by the comics' respective writers. Even with that precedent aside it would make absolutely no sense to have someone else write the Power of the Primes event.
If you don't like Star Saber in IDW, cool; but it isn't going to change even if Star Saber wins this vote.

Star saber first appeared in MTMTE qnd wasn't written by the writters of Combiner wars and etc so it probably would be different even still there could be a redemption arc of sorts
Kurona wrote:And they won't have a redemption arc for Star Saber just because of what the toyline says. IDW is far, far, far less affected by the toyline in terms of direction, storytelling, character and pretty much anything aside from what body Starscream currently has than any other Transformers fiction. If he's going to eventually be redeemed, it won't be because he's getting a new toy and becoming a prime in whatever weird thing Hasbro's doing.

I'm... I'm actually not entirely sure what you mean by this ^^; Are you trying to say something about the effect (or lack thereof) of the IDW comics on the toyline?

I'm actually not entirely sure what you mean by this ^^; Are you trying to say something about the effect (or lack thereof) of the IDW comics on the toyline? It was a sloppy attempt to point out that, historically, fiction has no bearing on what Hasbro decides to do, and vice versa. Sure, sometimes they come together in a marketing strategy, but not always.
A lot of folks seemed to be really concerned how this vote will effect IDW's goings on. I agree with what I think you're saying which is, it won't.
