There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Exactly. Galvatron in IDW (and oddly enough in the Original Series: Rebirth) hates the idea of being bonded to anything else, (organic or Cybertronian) Any form of combination to him is an abomination. So the very idea that he would allow himself to become a "Headmaster" goes against everything Galvatron believes, in multiple continuities. Though I do find a nice irony that his Headmaster's name is "Nucleon" the energy that took away the abilities of the Transformers to "Transform" in the original Series in favor of *greater power* ;) .

I was never one to assume IDW would follow the look/style of the Generations toys, I know they do get requests from Hasbro on occasion to feature certain characters (HI I'M WINDBLADE!) but for me, It's not so much a matter of hoping characters in IDW would follow suit with the toys (i.e. Chromedome becoming a Headmaster), for me it was, he should have been a Headmaster from day one, toy or not, and the fact that certain characters develop in completely topsy-turvy ways is just odd to me. But the majority seem to like it. C'est la vie

I personally think this new Prime is not just a toy/Machinima exclusive character. This is a big thing. It's a new age of a new Prime.

I agree that likely possibility.

Honestly I think star sabe should win he really needs an update for people who aren't willing to spend 180$ on his MP verison (i have it though) Plus this could be an actual chance to make star saber not a nut job this probably will have some retconning after all some of these characters are dead and probably will also use some weird or odd excuse if they were to be revived

It wouldn't cause a massive character change in the comics, if that's what you want.

Probably wouldn't be the case cause people would either put star saber in the two good guy categories (Forgot what they exactly were). Plusthis will be a different writter writting him presumely, and characters having personality changes have happened before Also to add on top he hasn't appeared for such a long time. Also why would you want to miss star saber getting a generations figure possibly

A generations Star Saber figure would be pretty cool, though I'd prefer Deathsaurus. What I'm saying has nothing to do with whether Star Saber will win or not though.

No matter what category Star Saber is in the toyline and/or the vote, that won't mean a thing in the comics. After all, Sentinel Prime is presented in the TR promotional material as a heroic Autobot from bygone times that fights alongside Optimus and Hardhead... yet in the IDW TR arc he's the main bad guy. What happens in the toyline and the toyline's promotional material does not translate literally to what the IDW comics do and there are countless examples of this.

Why would it be a different writer? The Combiner Wars and Titans Return events of IDW were written by the comics' respective writers. Even with that precedent aside it would make absolutely no sense to have someone else write the Power of the Primes event.

If you don't like Star Saber in IDW, cool; but it isn't going to change even if Star Saber wins this vote.

I really am wanting another good guy Prime. Even though Saber would probably be a good guy in the toy, he would most likely be a bad guy personality in the comics. I don't want another Sentinel Prime.

Star Saber would certainly not be another Sentinel; they're cut from two very different - though still villainous - cloths.

I don't mean they're exactly alike. I mean that sort of situation with a bad guy Prime. I want either Hound or Megatron, personally. Megatron from IDW could make a very interesting Prime.

That's not really a good comparison at all. If an MTMTE character like Star Saber is at the center of a storyline, it'll be written by the writers of MTMTE. Just like how Fortress Maximus, Red Alert and Luna 1 were major parts of the Titans Return storyline, so that was partly written by James Roberts.
And they won't have a redemption arc for Star Saber just because of what the toyline says. IDW is far, far, far less affected by the toyline in terms of direction, storytelling, character and pretty much anything aside from what body Starscream currently has than any other Transformers fiction. If he's going to eventually be redeemed, it won't be because he's getting a new toy and becoming a prime in whatever weird thing Hasbro's doing.

 It was a sloppy attempt to point out that, historically, fiction has no bearing on what Hasbro decides to do, and vice versa. Sure, sometimes they come together in a marketing strategy, but not always.

A lot of folks seemed to be really concerned how this vote will effect IDW's goings on. I agree with what I think you're saying which is, it won't.

Just pointing out that it's a two way street. With a traffic jam. :-P ;)

I'm... I'm actually not entirely sure what you mean by this ^^; Are you trying to say something about the effect (or lack thereof) of the IDW comics on the toyline?
 It was a sloppy attempt to point out that, historically, fiction has no bearing on what Hasbro decides to do, and vice versa. Sure, sometimes they come together in a marketing strategy, but not always.

A lot of folks seemed to be really concerned how this vote will effect IDW's goings on. I agree with what I think you're saying which is, it won't.

Oh of course, certainly. IDW does their own thing, Generations does their own thing; and sometimes they crossover slightly (Generations sometimes making a MTMTE version of a character like TR Rewind having a camera or Chromedome and Brainstorm having their IDW faces; IDW doing toyline promotions and new bodies based on new toys).
It's the sort of relationship I wish Hasbro had with most Transformers fiction, honestly. I think Aligned in particular would have benefited greatly from it.

It wouldn't cause a massive character change in the comics, if that's what you want.

You mean in personality wise? Or overall affecting every character cause it probably would

If Star Saber wins, it won't change his personality in IDW. That's what I'm saying.

Star saber first appeared in MTMTE qnd wasn't written by the writters of Combiner wars and etc so it probably would be different even still there could be a redemption arc of sorts

Also I can't see a "redemption" arc for Star Saber in IDW because he, I imagine, wouldnt want to change. He believes in what he does and believes in a religious zealotry way to where he is sure of his faith and what/why he does what he does. Very hard for that to change, not saying it cant happen, just I don't think he would.

Star Saber would certainly not be another Sentinel; they're cut from two very different - though still villainous - cloths.

Sentinel Prime isn't evil, he's just the victim of IDW's malicious smear campaign. He doesn't even hate the Decepticons, just the ones that come to Iacon illegally and start shooting Autobots.

In all seriousness, wouldn't it be nice if we had a Sentinel Prime who A: actually has personality and character development, and B: isn't a jerk? G1 Sentinel only existed to give Optimus someone to succeed, Animated Sentinel Prime was a dick (if not actually evil), DotM Sentinel Prime was pretty cool but again, was evil (RIP Leonard Nimoy), and IDW Sentinel Prime is just a shallow "hey guise we don't like Trump lolololol!" strawman. Can we not have a Sentinel Prime that, say, disappears in a Space Bridge accident and reappears in the far future, and is genuinely good hearted but has some outdated ideas due to having been catapulted into the present day from millions of years in the past?

That's what I wanted, but again... IDW.

That's why I think Star Saber as a Prime is a bad idea. Let's just stick to the ones we know would be good guys like Hound, or surprisingly Megatron.

Also having Smokescreen on the list would've been an awesome nod to the TF Prime show. :(

Would Sentinel Zeta Prime count? There are some pieces of fiction in which he is referred to without the "Zeta" part of his name.

So the website is working right now right?

If so who thinks is the worst candidate on this list?

I personally think Arcee is.
