A new Ultra Magnus would be neat- the CW toy has some pretty significant flaws (notably breakage issues, craptacular hands and no ankle rockers). Star Saber and Deszaras would both be welcome in my book, especially the latter as he hasn't had a good toy in years (aside from the BotCon exclusive retool of Gigatron). Primal I'd kinda like to win if only to see what they came up with.
So yeah, all in all I'd be OK with anyone out of these finalists winning.

Hmm.... IDW could very well put Magnus in this position, but secretly have someone else beneath the armor..... Using the Magnus armor as a Pretender shell almost seems like an inevitable plot-point in IDW at some point, even if not this particular one.

Extremely surprised to see both the obscure Victory guys get in... hm. This makes things interesting.
Actually not sure whether I want Deathy over Primal anymore

Making a prediction for the final round:
Magnus gets left in the dust.
Deathsaurus gets a lot of votes, but ultimately looses out to Star Saber and Primal.
As to who wins between those two, I have no idea.

I wonder if Hasbro will actually ever reveal what the actual results were (how many fans voted for eac). Not that I don't like the choices, but still...seems kind of odd, Also why the *wild card*? I thought it was going to be left at 3. If they wanted a 4th, I would have thought Megatron or Shockwave would have got way more votes than Deszaurus...something seems a little fishy is all I'm saying.

This all just feels kinda pointless now...
Hang on, I'm going to try to iterate--doubtless I'll get told off by somebody, and I suck at explaining myself but, all these fan polls just feel like Hasbro and Takara are just finding ways to validate/ hype/ give credence to things they already have done, or ideas already in the pipeline.
TT gave Japan the chance to vote for the next MP; Star Saber wins, but Primal turns up 2 years later regardless, and I can't help think any design and engineering plans for an MP Ginrai were just funneled into legends super Ginrai (moreso the Godbomber part now coming)
Both fan built bots are female. This isn't a problem, but, given the current social climate, were Hasbro not going to introduce more females characters anyway? And honestly, what did we get? Windblade doesn't exactly break any archetypal molds, does she? She's still a product of....well being a product. She doesn't come across as anything new or different, as something crafted by fans- people with passion and desire for seeing growth and change; rather she's just more product from 'business' types with an demographic-aimed agenda to stick to. I don't like Strongarm personally, but had she been the product of the fan built vote...I'd actually have been pleasantly surprised.
The next Titan class? Yeah....we really let our voice be heard there. God knows who they'd have chosen if we didn't steer them toward Trypticon...
Now, we have this. All the finalists are-or have been-leaders already. Nothing 'really' new is happening. Nothing is being created outside of the confines that Hasbro, and all related fiction writers, have to work within. It's all still crafted.
I don't want to be 'that guy' y'know...but...if these 'fan polls' are just to make us feel all special 'cos we contributed, well...can you really be proud of being part of something if that something would have happened without your input regardless? We (the fans) are not really doing a whole lot here, are we?
I'll go home now.

Rigged.
I only say that because it seems like the most conventional choices won. All leadership guys. Nothing really crazy like Hound or Megatron which would've be tricky on the status quo Hasbro likes to keep in their toy line.

It's always been rigged. Look at windblade, she showed up halfway through Dark cybertron and those comics in that event were made 6-12 months before release due to the need to be packaged with the figures. So she was put in the series while the contest was still going on.
Same with Victorian. The combiner Hunters comic was released a couple months after the contest. That was being drawn during or at the tail end of the contest.
Deathsaurus has already shown up in systems. He's the winner
These things are already preordained. It's all for moral and giving fans the notion of participating.

Maybe they are all getting new figures, and the gimmick of this line is having a matrix slot that unlocks a new weapon, facemask or something. The winner will get THE Matrix, and the losers will all get some generic wind, heart, or fire Matrix.

Even though I believe Unknown Evil's place was rigged the rest of what you said is completely bull why would they do the darn things in the first place if none of the choices mattered in the end anyways eh?
You do know that it probably did not take long to draw in Windblade and Victorion in comics that were probably planned to include the fan made bot in the first place just not the design or gender doing something like that probably would not take long especially with Dark Cybertron's mostly crap art thanks to Livio.
Did either of them use their specific powers when first introduced I also don't remember Windblade acting in Dark Cybertron like she did in later comics I think she was more warrior type when introduced but correct me if I'm wrong.

Pretty sure Victorian did use a form of her power and the book takes place in the sea of rust outside Iacon and sea of rust was in contest as a place or origin.
Personally I don't think the contests are legit at all. The timing is way too close to appearances in fiction. The only one I felt was actual was for the Titan but I think all three were planned and will be eventually be released one year after another. They were all already designed and it doesn't help Omega Supreme's trademark was renewed around the same time or a couple months after the voting. He was the only one that needed renewed. I believe that contest was really "who do you want first" but time will tell

Well it is possible, considering they could use some "Saber" or "Brainmaster" thing to explain that away

Primal Prime was a botcon exclusive toy whose only fictional appearances were in Timelines comics, half of which were cameos and another of which was unfinished.

Exactly I doubt that Unknown Evil was the 4th most voted for over Megatron or Arcee but Hasbro got ta milk that pointless marketing cow dry even if it's obvious on who Mr.Unknownnosaurus actually is.
In other news I think I'll just vote for Star Saber just realizing he never got a toy in the west and either he will get reformed in IDW due to loadbearer and Matrix or we just get another Nova/Sentinel for the what 50th time in IDW?
