m liking that Gears

...but that jet mold with the "hoodhead" just doesn't jive for me

Yes, the eyes are the biggest difference between the movie style faction symbols and the regular style faction symbols that we had for the 23 years prior to the films. They're definitely distinctly different than the traditional style. The eyes were changed so that they would line up horizontally for marketing purposes (such as when the logos are changed out on the Autobot and Decepticon packaging, the eyes are now in the same position which makes it easier when swapping the logos back and forth.

the Autobot eyes are also different. They almost look angry to me whereas the Autobot symbol prior to the films were always horizontally flat and did not angle down toward the nose like the movie style does.

Plastic in it's most beautiful form. Really love the colours schemes. The two molds are fantastic and will probably be picking up both Gears and Thrust.

So what version of breakaway is rarer? I have the original and i seen the new version the other day at target.

If you can't find the Dark Breakaway, I suggest just waiting... that's all the shops will have soon.

I noticed something awesome about him last night... as well as the hip, knee and ankle articulation, there is a sideways hinge just above the foot. It took a little work to loosen it up, but it means you can always have the feet perfectly flat, regardless of pose. I never saw this mentioned in reviews.

If only Ironhide had this feature...

They have a toy section, and its one of the first place to get the Arcee wave. Since it's not really near your house, check it out if you ever drive by. :-?

I picked up Gears for 10 dollars at walmart today. Nothing like Gears but he kinda reminds me of Wheeljack if they did a movie version of him.

I may still get Gears. I need to see him up close. I am still debating Thrust and Swerve for that matter. I would have bought the Breakaway variant if I saw it first, but I am happy with the one I have.
