Would Interragator Barricade be considered a retool as well?

I consider Interrogator Barricade a retool simply because it has a new/modified part.

Well, I can see that Prime and Starscream would need new figures, since their originals weren't that well designed. Ratchet, Voyager Prime, Barricade and Grindor are more or less repaints, and Ironhide is a retool, even though the basic body is the same as 2007 Ironhide.

Yes, the ROTF toyline is well designed, no doubts there, but making new molds for certain characters seems pointless to me. Only collectors are going to make the effort to buy them anyway. I can just imagine a parent asking a child why he'd want to buy Leader Prime if he has the Leader Prime from the first movie line.

Interrorgator Barricade is most certainly a retool, because, aside from the telescoping light part replacing Frenzy, it's the same as the 2007 figure in every way.

What about all of the people that didn't get one the first time around? Now they can get that character. How many versions of Bumblebee has there been and look at how he still flies off the shelf.

I guess that makes sense when you consider general fans or people who have seen this movie first, but most collectors would have already gotten the originals, and unless they're that hardcore, wouldn't feel the need to pick them up again, unless they were redesigned like Prime and Starscream are. I personally can't see anyone who has 2007 Ironhide, 2007 Ratchet or Blackout getting ROTF Ironhide, ROTF Ratchet or Grindor. (Especially Grindor, who is Blackout in a different color scheme. I mean, if they did a new mold or retooled the original, OK, I'd get it.)

And speaking of multiple Bumblebee's...why, exactly, is that? I mean, in this line alone, we had the original, Cannon Bumblebee and apparently a NEST version, too. Do we really need that many variants?

I have every version of Ironhide, Ratchet, Blackout/Evac/Grindor/Whirl, and even every version of Bumblebee. I actually think Grindor has a nicer scheme, Ironhide's new weapon is cool, and some of the Bumblebee repaints are better than the original (Stealth in particular).

I will admit that at this point, with NEST BB, it does feel like a death march to buy every BB.

Not really... N.E.S.T. Bumblebee is included in a two-pack with Black Soundwave. That means there's not really much of a choice if you want Black Soundwave

I'll still be buying it, don't get me wrong. And I still want to acquire a Chara Black Soundwave because they're pretty different decos. But still. 10 redecos?

10 BB redecos? Crazy! I'm happy with just HA BB.

Who needs to wait for Alternity Bumble to experience the multitudes of BBs throughout known existence? Movie BB should've been Alternity BB.

But, yeah, Cannon Bumblebee is quite a retooling of the mold.
