After a two week hiatus, the toy galleries of Seibertron.com are back with a bang. Perhaps the biggest and most anticipated wave of the year 2010, it's Transformers: Reveal The Shield Deluxe Wave One. This wave contains all Autobots - Special Ops Jazz, Turbo Tracks, Mindset and Fallback. Special Ops Jazz is armed with a blaster and speakers, and homages his Generation One counterpart. Turbo Tracks also homages his Generation One persona, who comes with a blaster and backpack guns. The last two figures to finish off the wave are Fallback, a repaint of ROTF Brawn, and Mindset, a repaint of HFTD Hailstorm. Fallback is a homage to G1 Outback, while Mindset takes his name from a Generation Two comic book character, but shares different colors. Four figures that will look great in your Classics toy shelf. Check out the full galleries by clicking the links or pictures below!

That's a new degree of moronic right there. Hasbro makes this big thing about trying to make you guess which side these guys are allied to; the line is called Reveal The Shield, each figure has a heat sensitive insignia, even the insignia on the clear plastic part of the packaging has a question mark on it, and then they go and give away the answer in the description on the back.

I realise that kids probably don't read the descriptions, and that we collectors will know the figure's allegiance anyway, but as far as gimmicks go, this is a pretty weak and pointless one.

I can't get enough of these two figures, I felt like a 9 yr old again and slept with these 2 figures in my bed (& I'm 29!...I know sad) But I said it before & I'll say it again, it is a GREAT time in transformers history to be a G1 fan.

PS...I THINK THERE NEED TO BE AN EDIT, I THINK FALLBACK IS NOT A REPAINT OF ROTF BRAWL, BUT OF BRAWN...BUT IF I WAS AS EXCITED ABOUT THESE FIGURES AS IM SURE YOU ARE I WOULD BE MAKING TYPOS LEFT & RIGHT LOL.. :KREMZEEK:

Just got Jazz and Tracks and love both of them. Jazz is already one of my favorate Classics figures. I'm actually surprised and glad they didn't just remold the Prowl figure which probably would've been easy enough to do.

Can't wait to get Wheeljack. I hope we get a Dead End repaint out of one of these guys.

When did you get into Transformers collecting? Rubsigns were a big part of G1 and Beast Wars. I know RTS is the slogan, and etc, but to have the rubsigns back, it's great to know we're still homaging those days. And this gimmick is pretty fair compared to the some of the one's we've had over the years.

SWEEEEEEET!!!! These are all awesome. Jazz looks great. He could fit in classics or movieverse in my opinion. I think Mindset looks better than Hailstorm too.

What I don't get though is why the allegiance symbol is printed on the card. It defeats the whole purpose of the promotion of the series. Wouldn't it be more "fun" to find out the allegiance of a character you don't know well after you open him?
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.

Considering that they introduced rubsigns within at least the first 7 months of when Transformers were introduced, you're not homaging a whole lot. The figures from late 84 (such as Jetfire and Shockwave, who if I recall correctly were released in time for Christmas that year) all had rubsigns through the end of the 1987 assortments.

Point taken; though I'm pretty sure the initial releases of Jetfire and Shockwave had no rubsigns.

Sounds about right. I'm certain my Jetfire had a rubsign, but don't recall my Shockwave having one. I didn't get them that far apart, so it must not have been long before they made a running change.

BTW, I like how these new rubsigns don't have the gray square around them, it's like a new twist on a classic.

So, is Fallback just the Classics version of Outback and renamed due to trademark/copyright/legal stuff issues? Because that's what I'll be using him as.

Fallback is the new name for Outback. Hasbro mentioned this a while back because of the Outback restaurant chain, though I don't see how that conflicts since this is a toy and that is a restaurant. Perhaps they're just being overly-cautious. This is the second time an Outback homage has been named Fallback. The first was 5 years ago for BotCon 2005's Fallback.

According to TFWiki Outback Steakhouse is indeed to blame, simply because the trademark is registered across several categories:

In 2005, Fun Publications was forced to change the name of a BotCon 2005 exclusive intended as an homage to Generation 1 Outback to "Fallback". The Outback Steakhouse restaurant chain has successfully applied for "Outback" across a vast number of categories. Since Hasbro had not used the name for a product since 1993, there seems to be no way for them to wrest control of Outback Steakhouse's active claim to the mark without heavy modification - the "Outback" name was used for a 2008 exclusive G.I. Joe figure, as well as a forthcoming limited release, as "Stuart 'Outback' Selkirk." TFWiki.net then presumes it is only a matter of time until fans start clamoring for a figure of Judd "Hot Rod" Nelson.

Too many Jazzes to do comparison pics of everything right now with all that I'm in the middle of. I didn't bust out the Pretender shell, the G2 Jazz, the BotCon one for group shots (though I did get him out for a couple of one-on-one shots at the last minute because I had to use BotCon Rodimus for the Protector galleries), the WST Jazz, or the movie repaint Jazz.
